This is the ESPN headline promoting the Bulls/Celtics game tonight...

Bullish Behavior
Boston has been hot since the All-Star break. Can a Rose-less Chicago squad cool 'em off?

Didn't the Spurs already do this last night?
Yeah...I know I'm an overly sensitive Spurs fan! :lol

Spurs victories don't count.

They have been hot since the All-Star break, despite having that setback against San Antonio. Why are Spurfans so bitter and care so much about the headlines that ESPN create? You know that ESPN hates small markets and you still keep beating yourself over it.

Why does Lakerfan care so much about how Spurfans react to ESPN coverage?

Because it's getting repetitive and tiring. Downstairs they create a "guess the ESPN headline" after every Lakers game. They care so much for what ESPN says; they want so much of ESPN's respect. :lol

If you want to have a say in ESPN headlines, why don't you try applying at ESPN. Otherwise, just shut the fuck up.

I could see it now for a possible finals preview. Heat/bulls/magic face the winner of the western conference!

Don't open the thread, it won't make you tired.

With all the crap that three certain Lakerfans spew all over the NBA Forum, this sort of stuff seems harmless by comparison, tbqh.

If the Spurs make the finals expect ABC to cancel the their telecast and instead air a spinoff of The Bachelor..

lol really.

Wasn't the Spurs-Pistons Final in 2005 the least watched in history?

lol, that's ridiculous. The finals are going to be on ABC regardless of the teams who partake in it

I'll take the side of 'why does anyone care.'

I'm sure the players on the Spurs give a shit about what ESPN does.

Well if it makes you happy, Charles Barkley and Shaq said that the Spurs are going to win the west. and that the Bulls look like the Spurs from the 90's with a bunch of BRuce Bowens on the team.

If you had an iota of sense, and actually find this sort of topic tedious and objectionable, you would not have posted in it and allowed it to die the death it so richly deserves. Instead, it's still at the top of the forum.

This is funny: Lakers got a win , yet all they talk about is Blake's dunks over Gasol

Most Spurs fans love being under the radar, the dude who started the thread just wants justice ha

As long as ESPN flashes a clip of Joaquim Noah showing off those chiclets shouting "Bulls boyeeee!!!" in his typical hyperactive fashion, then I'm all for the Bulls getting much hype.

IMO it's good that the Spurs are ignored by the media. The media takes small comments and blows them up leading to all sorts of drama. Take TP's comments about the Spurs being done contending for a 'ship, imagine if LBJ, Kobe, etc. said that. The media would go crazy.

The media is a huge reason why head coaches get fired, why players get traded (they make a small comment and it grows into something big), they start drama in the locker rooms, etc. The media are relentless and will keep pushing and pushing until they get what they want to hear.

I would agree. But being covered more in the media does lead to a bigger fanbase, making free agent aquisition a bit easier.

Gotta admit that the complete lack of love by ESPN puzzles me, considering the fact that market size never comes up when they're talking about the Saints and the Packers all season long. Given their history, it's no longer a surprise. This is a good place to see continuing examples of it, and obviously other people are noticing them.

ESPN is in the marketing business, not the sports business, and they're going to take the path of least resistance to get there. So that said, can you blame them? Duncan and Popovich aren't interesting or cooperative when it comes to publicity. Parker and Manu are superstars in their home countries but not here. There's no local media to stir up any kind of stories that the national media can pick up. There's no drama, no battles of egos, just consistently good basketball. In this day and age, ESPN has no way to market that.

By the way, that second dunk by Griffin on Pau was a massive offensive foul. Why nobody bothers to mention that is equally puzzling.

Ask any Spur and I'm sure they wouldn't mind the lack of media attention. Spurs were the best team for most of last season yet ESPN focused their coverage on the bigger markets.
