After how badly Boston exposed San Antonio's weakness to tough defense, I expect the Hornets to play as physical as possible. Hopefully the Spurs learned something and will respond better/not let their offense fall apart.

Tbh, I don't see how the Hornets could possibly execute this kind of a game plan. I think the Spurs should win this handily but of course they are due for a trap game.

It's been there, but it's never been shown like that this year. The good thing is they grinded out a win with things falling apart, which they'll have to do on more than one occasion in the playoffs, which is the big difference from last year. Last year the team was in situations like that in Memphis and could never find a way to win. This year's team just proved they can in arguably a tougher situation, but in a 7-game series adjustments will be made against the Spurs to use that weakness. I hope the Hornets do play towards that weakness and the Spurs are forced to respond.

I wouldn't hold my breath. The Hornets just dont have the fire power or the know how to play the Spurs tough. Even if they did, it wouldn't serve as a gauge meter since the Hornets suck so much and so people wouldn't put much stock in it.

Hornets are mostly healthy now. Only Okafor is out. They haven't been at full strength all season. When Gordon was healthy, Ariza was out. When Ariza came back, Gordon was out and then injuries piled on after that. If they were close to full strength, they would have been battling it out for the 8th spot. Thankfully, they are tanking because they will get two good draft picks.

freetiago
04-06-2012, 05:50 PM
hornets are a good team
the two lottery picks will put them in playoff contention with a full healthy roster next season
they also have cap space to sign some free agents
monty williams is also one of the better coaches in the league
people forgot they started last season 10-0 and were probably the best or at least top 3 defensive team in the league at that point

players seem to like coming back from injury to drop career bests vs the spurs
wouldnt expect anything less than 30 from eric gordon
jarret jack averaged 27 points on 60% shooting in two meetings vs us this season

Pop and the team would. Hell, I would too. The Hornets are better than their record indicates, and they always play the Spurs tough. They have Eric Gordon back so they can score a bit easier, and Jack might be out who takes shots away from others. They play physical with the Spurs too. I doubt this game will be close, seeing as the Spurs are at home, but I'd like to see the team get played rough and react to it well.

One thing you gotta respect about the Lakers is they know how to grind out wins. They've been doing it a lot lately, and it'll help them a lot come playoff time (even if most of them came against bottom feeders).

With 14 games in 21 days remaining in the season (and B2B in the first round) lets keep our eyes on the big picture. Yes it would be great to make a run at the number one seed in the West but i'm sure that all involved would take health over seeding when the playoff start.

Pop has done a great job thus far throughout the season in managing minutes and I for one hope that it continues tonight. Having Jack out will only further implore Pop to rest our stars keeping in mind what the next 8 weeks could hold for the Spurs.

Getting a steal on one end does NOT excuse horrible forcing shots on the other end, especially when you get multiple chances. God, will this idiot ever learn? :pctoss

Well it might have gone better if anybody but Parker had helped him. Blair gets a steal and goes down the court and only Parker goes with him, so the Spurs had two against three because Manu and Tim and Leonard all stayed at the other end of the court.
