I am kind of starting to think Coach Pop was on to something. Maybe this team needs a little taste of defeat every now and then. :flag:

I was just looking at the boxscore of that 40 pt blowout, and lo and behold the Spurs didn't have SEVEN players who played tonight: Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, Splitter, Jackson, Mills, and Diaw.

I want a rematch.

Never cared. That Batum game winner last year hurt a lot more especially since I was in that arena.

Ouch. Remembered it watching on tv and fucking posting an idiotic thread afterwards with most of the guys.

That had to be one of the biggest "meltdown" nights in this boards history.

it's in the past. we're after bigger things than one regular season win.

+1. IIRC, we had 2 straight nights of meltdown losses.

Tbh, the Spurs would still be on that original winning streak if Pop didn't throw that game.

Didn't we rebound on a depleted Nuggets team before the Bulls meltdown?

Werd that loss last year at the buzzer hurt real bad. So how long is this streak going that were currently on? Can we beat the jazz for 12?

Thinking we win the home game pretty easily then rest the big 3 at the Delta center so the streak stops at 11 again.

Or rest the big 3 at home and play them at the Energy Solutions Arena for yet another B2B win?

Yes. Why the fuck do you put Steve Novak into the game with a few seconds left to inbound the ball when he hasn't even logged a single...

Oh, you mean the Portand game THIS year?

Why would ST be pissed about it?

I really wish our current bench would have been the one to take them on...

& piss 15,000 (that's everyone minus the season ticket holders) off? Maybe just Duncan? Tbh I think the Spurs can win the back2back against Pootah.

The reason is that it was at a time the Spurs were forming a pattern of not closing out games properly. We saw the same thing in the Grizzlies series. The Spurs couldn't close out games 1 and 3.

I would guess Popovich settles on a rotating schedule for rest nights for the players, as we did in our most recent stretch. Rest Duncan, Manu, and Parker each on a different day and try to win with the other 2 and the deep bench. Seems logical, and it worked the 1st time. But then again when you look at the schedule we do play tough teams now, and I would hope we play a full strength team against LAL and MEM. I hope he simply doesn't throw a game and rest all 3 at once, that wouldn't do us any good and we are on fire now.

If Duncan will play most games, I would rest him @GSW on the 16th, and vs. CLE on the 22nd. Manu could be rested @UTH on the 9th and @SAC on the 18th. I'd give Parker the night off also @GSW on the 16th and if needed maybe also vs. CLE on the 22nd. Otherwise, don't forget that we will probably have clinched 1st or 2nd by the last few games, and at that point I could see the Big 3 sit out the last games against PHX or GSW if that is the case.

Popovich can also throw in an occasional night off for the likes of S-Jax or whoever he thinks could use the rest.
