In NBA history, teams that have led a best-of-seven series 3-2 have gone on to win the series 85.4 percent of the time.

In the history of the 2-3-2 format, no team has ever won Games 6 and 7 on the road after trailing 3-2 in the NBA Finals. Only one road team (the 1953-54 Syracuse Nationals) won Game 6 to force Game 7.

Since 1985, the Spurs are the eighth team to lead 3-2 and host Game 6. The other seven teams in that situation are 7-0.

San Antonio has not lost to Detroit at home since 1997.

You know what all this means??

not a damn thing.

You still have to play the game. If the Spurs are in the right mindset (Games 1, 2 and 5) then its over. If not...its Game 7 where anything can happen.

I'm not sure if I agree with this, but I heard another completely random statistical flipflop on the radio here in Detroit.

"The Spurs only need to win 1 of the next 2, but the Pistons know that they don't have that luxury of only needing 1 of the next 2. I think that gives the Pistons a mental edge".

Stats like this are rediculous. You nailed it on the head.. it's why they play the games.

The Pistons have the luxury of knowing they have to win. Damn, those lucky mf'ers with such a nice luxury.

What's the Spurs all time record when they have a 3-2 lead in a series? HCA or not?

Well, they're saying we DONT have that luxury, but I'm not defending it. I'm just reporting it. Yes, it's completely stupid.

They have lost 2 times and won all the rest.

They lost to Philly in 79, Washington in 79 and that was the only time they went 7 games besides Portland in 1990. Against Portland, they were behind 3-2, and forced game 7 in Portland but lost.
