If the Spurs win tonight, we could be talking about a dynasty. The question is not will we repeat, but how many times. I'm thinking a minimum 8-peat.

I think the Spurs will be competing for rings for some years to come. I also think Detroit will be in the hunt for years to come. Are the Pistons the new enemy? We don't have the Lakers around anymore. It was amost nice to have Shaq in the Western Conference. There's not really much of a rivalry over here anymore.

Could Spurs/Pistons be the new Lakers/Celctics?

Discuss.

With the quality of players that both teams have locked up for the next 5-7 years, it could be a good rivalry. BUT with Larry Brown's impending departure, the team could take on a whole new philosophy. I don't see Pop or his coaching style going anywhere as long as we have Tim, Manu, and Tony as our core. The Spurs chances of a dynasty look alot better than Detroit's does. (not taking anything away from the Piston's)

With Ben Wallace around, I think they'll keep their defensive mentality. They're not really built to play another way. And Rip and Chauncey are excellent players. They'll be contenders.

If Horry sticks around 2 more seasons and Barry finds his touch... (remember that all new shooters suffer a well known syndrome here in San Antonio that lasts about one year: Kerr (didn't have the same touch following the last year he played for Chicago), Horry (came out of it this year -- his second), Smith, and I hope Barry follows the same learning curve.... Hedo does not count, he got booted not only cause he couldn't shoot, but because he couldn't buy a layup.)

Anyway... With those shooters we're at least set.

Tony will only get better

Manu I hope his body will endure more seasons

Tim needs to work on his achilles heel and hire a free throw coach.

Nazr needs more time to adapt to passes under the basket

OOOOh

And we're getting Scola...

And how can you forget that we have another All-Star on the bench in G-Rob.

Yeah... Let the Good Times Roll!!!

At least 2-3 more championships.

Well, anyway.. he shows up at the church in his golf pants, caked in mud. Well, ol' Bill Brasky pushes the priest aside and says, "I'll baptize that piece of calimari!" Then he pours Scotch all over my baby son and says, "There! You're baptized!"

The Spurs have no business being called a dynasty.

True dynasties are reserved for the 3-in-a-row teams.

Spurs aren't even close, even if they won it next year, winning 3 of 4, it would be a stretch to call them a dynasty.

nobody called them a dynasty yet. I said they have the potential to be a dynasty with their prospective roster and head coach for the next 6-7 years.
