:lmao Really? Normally woulda passed this one up, but this shit is too hilarious right here considering you are the angriest poster alive on Spurstalk who for years always stalks everyone, following poster's around for a living day and night while the rest of the world is working and having a life, tbh lol.
If you just for the fuck of it add up the posts of the last 10 posters before you, and combine them all together, fuck it, throw my posts in there too..so make that 11 posters just on this last page alone..
SBM, even throw sorry ass cuck Blake's 23, 000 posts in there, Charlie Sheen, SpurNAustin, pgrdn, spurraider21, Spurs and Mavs fan, Homeland Security, Fabbs, armynick23, and myself SA210..that would equal 57,400 or so.
You would still have like 18,000 more posts than all of these 11 posters COMBINED. Shit, you can even throw in triple the amount of SBM's posts and add another 16,000 fake ones on top of even that just for fun, and you would still be in the lead by 3-4000 or more..lol
Chunky-Dumpster, I think it's safe to say we all know who is really trying too hard..

I apologize for the obsessive stalking I do of many of you posters, but I must keep my eye on the prize and extend my lead at all costs.

Just another year, insert Scotti Brooks name, panic move after panic move, rinse and repeat.
I'm not the kinda guy who would say I told you so...but...
Let's call a spade a spade here-if anyone here can face some truth;
Pop would make a pretty good GM if he could step back and stop coaching he could concentrate on personnel moves, trades,etc...
A young coach with fire, discipline and talent is needed.
Just look at the last two years in terms of MOTIVATION;
Hollins: Pumping his team up with fire, encouragement, etc
Pop: "They are professionals. I don't have to say anything."
A year later:
Brooks: "I wasn't going to take Durant out of the game. He has it in him to play 48 minutes-no excuses."
Pop: "They are a better team." "It's a storybook ending for them and I am happy for them."
Sometimes it sucks when you are right. I was afraid of this.
Just like I said;
Can the Spurs win a title in spite of Pop?
Guess not.

Liked P. Terry's. I don't need some massive meal, so the burger size was good for me. Pretty fresh tasting and overall really solid (especially for the price). I've seen Elevation Burger but never even heard of it before (one off 183 & some road can't remember).
Just on burger alone not the best, but very, very solid and would definitely eat there again if I wanted a burger. Still think that Hopdoddy is the best burger I've had so far in Austin.

So how many rings did Pop PREVENT the Spurs from winning since 2007?
I am gonna say - conservatively - 3. This would have been going to the finals -(if they don't fuck it up now) for ring #8 in Timmy's illustrious career - had Pop not fucked it up.
I will forgive him ---
IF the Spurs get #5 this year.

Pop made a mistake by not thinking the Spurs could go back to being a good defensive team. He made a mistake by not thinking Splitter could help in that transformation. Very simply, a HOF coach made some major mistakes that alot of Spurs fans recognized.

28 teams in the NBA would instantly fire their head coach if it meant getting Popovich.
The Bulls are probably the only team that wouldn't.
Fact.
Spurs fans are so entitled it's scary.
Absolutely. I have been around during the lean years.
But Pop can still make mistakes with associated assistants, RJ being a huge one. I will say I think he left Bonner in too long with Splitter last night. I found myself flailing about watching Randolph continue to get rebounds over Bonner late. This, IMO, does not equate to Pop is a stubborn dunce.
The associated posts that believe Pop started Splitter way too late and declare this obvious due to Tiago's current form...
silly. Pop hates Tiago, etc... Just plain silly.

I beg to differ.
he has set up one of the most wicked exterior pressing D's without a legit big man. If we do meet them, it will be most interesting to see how we handle this without Parker getting worn down. Green, Leonard, splitter, Duncan... How many ball handlers under pressure in that group? Manu will definitely be on the floor with Tony more often.
So now present your own off the top of your head...
This is what this thread could have evolved into. A discussion of the merits and weaknesses of other coaches.

Chicago was always in the top 3 defensive teams during the 3 peats even if they didn't have a DPOY-caliber center; Jordan and Pippen (and later Rodman) were the defensive anchors.

Truth.
/threadPop doesn't give a shit about what you think.
No one on the Spurs does.
Truth.
Pop made a mistake by not thinking the Spurs could go back to being a good defensive team. He made a mistake by not thinking Splitter could help in that transformation. Very simply, a HOF coach made some major mistakes that alot of Spurs fans recognized.Credit taken.

Say the Spurs go to the finals and lose and Pop plays his best (not favorite) players...
or
Say the Spurs go to the finals and lose and Pop plays Bonner more than Splitter, Diaw, ...
Which would be harder to accept?
Popsuckers cannot understand this and Pop took 3 years to figure out that playing Splitter next to Timmy --and playing Bon-Bon LESS --was in the Spurs best interests.
Now that Pop has squandered 3 years and titles- Popsuckers want to forget that what Pop is doing now is what we had been screaming for - for years...

So sacrificing a player and team for that players individual development (that might very well go south) gets you 3 championships the last 3 years. You are seriously so flawed in your reasoning its comical.
You do not put players in a position to fail themselves and the team. Tiago still has a very long way to go to be a complete player. And it is highly possible he never learns to shoot a hook shot properly, rebound with authority, or develop hands to hold on to the flippn ball.
You think Tiago was the ONE magical piece to win us 3 championships? If so, you should never have watched this team, and you might want to quit watching NOW.

It's funny to justify Pop's decision to not play Tiago, people like to point out that he's not that good or tough or injury prone. At 7ft tall and with a high basketball IQ he's still much better than the alternative. I am not saying we would have won a championship though I think it's highly probable, however I am saying it would have maximized our potential. We were capable of getting out of the first round in '11 if Pop had simply integrated Splitter earlier. If you listen to Pop's comments when he talks about Splitter you will realize he messed up even though he refuses to admit it. He tends to claim Splitter being injured so much which is a lie.

He was injured his 1st season. It set him back according to most people more familiar with his situation than you or I.
Did you go to practice and watch him every day? I did not.
And so you to put yourself in the category as this silvermisfit creature who believes with Tiago we win 3 championships?

Great points -
one thing every popsucker is conveniently forgetting -
Not only would Tiago have played and matured quicker than 3 years --
It would have also SAVED us all the agony of BONNER-BALL!!!!
This is not even a small detail - this in itself would have avoided losing to a couple of teams in the playoffs.

Opposing coaches can only admire what Pop has done with a bunch of crappy draft choices over the years, not to mention the team overall.

All the Popsuckers that scoffed and tried to ridicule me when I said that Pop is still the biggest obstacle to the Spurs winning a title....
what is the reasoning now?
Where is the Coach of the year?
Bonner still the first "big" off the bench...
No sight of a TD/Tiago pairing....
Blair...6'7'' starting center ...
Being embarrassed by MIKE BROWN....MIKE FUCKIN' BROWN!
McRoberts posterizing Bonner....Pop pulls Bonner...Pop puts Bonner right back in...GENIUS!
No One on the Spurs with any desire...any fire...any balls...and Coach Pop didn't change anything...just kept the same rotation...the same everything....
This is what the Playoffs have in store...and this is exactly what happened last season...
Pop has had two seasons now with Splitter...and in two seasons...he has not been able to "find time" to try and integrate his only two players approaching 7 feet....this is the NBA where being tall is something that can't be taught...on top of that Splitter is not just some "serviceable' "blue collar" role player...he can actually be an asset by his mere presence on the court with his vision, passing, and basketball IQ...but fuckhead coach has pissed away two seasons....
This seasons playoffs are just about here and fuckhead coach is right on cue to get embarrassed again....

:lol TJastal and Silverblk owning in this thread. Funny how fools pretend to misinterpret what the main idea was, and that's that Pop was playing too much Bonner/Blair ball, we asked for Splitter because Splitter was riding the pine more than he should have and Bonner was known to stink it up in the Playoffs.
We wanted the "OLD" Pop back who focused on Defense and not over-used Bonner ball in the post-season, it was a Big issue (primarily Defensive driven Big), and a focus on D in general. Now, whether it be Diaw, Splitter, whatever, Pop DID make that change in the starting lineup, and it was the Lakers game that convinced him to finally make that change, regardless of the nonsensical banter going on here.
As far as I know, we all want the Spurs to win here, so it's funny how butthurt these morons actually are. For morons to come in here and act like Pop never made a change, or that the change is not what we asked for, are simply just fools and are obviously out to prove something else, because their ego's are hurt it appears.
He did make a change. It was for the better and it appears he is coaching like he used to during Championship runs, and that's what we asked for, at least I know that's what I wanted.
I'd like to see the morons criticize Timvp btw, because he has also in past seasons criticized Pop for Bonner ball, has said it doesn't seem like CIA Pop anymore, but rather WTF POP, in the past, etc. Even in of of these early playoff rounds he criticized Pop for not playing more Splitter with Tim in the reg season, and rightfully so. So have it. lol
Good thing is, Diaw is working out great, and Splitter is being utilized better, and success in these Playoffs has been great, and Bonners choke jobs haven't been able to harm us now, (although I do hope Bonner can catch fire soon). Pop looks to be back to how he "used" to be, let's hope it continues.
That Lakers beating the Spurs took was a blessing in disguise.
Thanks Pop for finally seeing the light.

I also don't understand why you are under the impression that a Mustang is any worse (or better) than any other car. It is what it is and somehow you seem to feel that this is some kind of a burn.

As long as Bonner wasn't Tiago's replacement - Pop is playing his best players instead of his favorites (Bonner) - this was all we asked - and of course I would never be upset at Manu starting over anyone.
But this isn't what you want to hear.

:cry:cry:cry "We want small ball - and we want Bonner!"
From the MYSA article;
But it’s not necessarily what small ball gives the Heat, rather than what it takes away from the Spurs.
With Tim Duncan firmly entrenched as the team’s low-post anchor on both ends, Tiago Splitter is the odd man out when Miami goes small to such a significant extent. Such was the case in Game 4, when he was substituted just 47 seconds in and played less than 14 minutes in total — essentially serving as Duncan’s backup.
That’s a substantial loss for the Spurs as the two form one of the most dominant defensive tandems in the NBA.
The Spurs are allowing just 76.4 points per 100 possessions in the 39 Finals minutes Duncan and Splitter have been deployed together — the lowest of any two-man lineup that has played more than 20 minutes together in the Finals, and 40.2 points fewer than the team’s series average.
Those numbers mirror the regular season, when Duncan and Splitter combined for the lowest defensive rating (92.7 points/100) among the 46 two-men lineups that saw at least 300 minutes.
Splitter’s individual numbers in the Finals are almost as good: a team-best 97.3 points allowed/100 possessions on the court, 114.6/100 off.
It’s easy to get hung up on the Brazilian’s poor offensive performance after having no fewer than seven shots blocked during the series. (You might remember this one in particular. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOV2nnhiYB0)) Those struggles, in addition to his rudimentary post game, are big reasons why the Spurs can’t simply keep him on the court and pound Miami back into normality.
But as the numbers show, Splitter has a massive impact on the other end of the court, and that’s every bit as important against an explosive Miami team whose most productive and efficient game in the paint (50 points, 25-for-38 shooting) coincided with his shortest stint of the series.
No wonder Spoelstra hinted that the Spurs should expect to see more of the same as the series continues.
“This we feel is the best move for now against the Spurs,” he said of going small.

This is going to be an issue for the Spurs. Will their offense first approach work in Miami? If not we're going to need Splitter to play with TD to protect the paint. I seriously don't see us going to Miami hoping to outscore them on their homecourt. Pop's got a decision to make.

Absolutely - and i would be tickled to death if they can out-small ball Miami and win the title - but I can't see the refs allowing the spurs to get a fair shake in Miami will all the flopping that the Heat players will be doing....
If manu can be super-manu again - maybe.
