It's not secret Dan Rather loves the Clintons...he fawns over Cholesterol Bill every chance he gets.
Anyway, my theory, Hitlary uses this affection to turn Dan into a useful idiot. She feeds him obviously faked documents knowing he'll buy it hook, line, and sinker from a Clinton (with very little actual scientific scrutiny) and also knowing he'll never rat you out because, well, he's pretty invested in a Hitlary Presidency in 2008 (maybe even a job as Communications Director or Spokesperson?). Dan's falling on a sword alright, he's just not doing it for CBS.
Knowing the documents will be quickly discovered and that the majority of reasonable Americans will draw a beeline to the Kerry Campaign, Hitlary can watch his chances for a win in November go from slim to none and she doesn't have to face an incumbent Demoncrat in '08.
I still can't get over how quiet the Demoncrats are over the provenance of the documents. Too quiet, if you ask me.
