OKC should win the West. It's their conference to lose.

If they make it into the playoffs, you also can't discount Dallas. They're the champs, and Dirk, when he catches fire like he did last season, can make it really tough on anybody.

Lakers' optimism is solely based on the Spurs win. Their current 4 win streak include being taken to OT by NOH, barely beating a Denver team at home, and back to OT at home against Dallas today. Prior to that: lost to Houston at home and against Phoenix. They're still under .500 on the road. While the West is more or less open this season, everybody not named the Spurs has been able to play with them, including at home. Needing bailout gamewinners against NJ and Golden State just a week ago completes the picture.

Spurs are not contenders, IMO, because of a few factors, but mainly age. I think they can beat anybody in the 1st round, but unless they land the Clippers or some other non-physical team, the wear and tear will eventually catch up to Tim and Manu. Then there's the whole Bonner conundrum. I do think they're better than last season, but you're still going as far as Manu and Tim take you, IMO. Would love to be wrong about this.

agree tbh, although OKC been playing real good in the regular season, lakers & spurs still the favorites to win the west. thunder are deep & talented but experience remains a premier factor in winning playoffs and any western playoff team not named grizzlies would beat em to this end. they may upset one team (spurs or lakers) but they ain't beating em both imho, mavs are a fucking joke and they ain't even relevant

Thunder "inexperience" is overrated, IMO. While it's true their worst enemy is possibly within their own ranks (lol Westchuck), they still managed to get to the WCF last season.

Now they have an extra season together and they added some vet savvy with Fish to give the right pep talk when needed. They've been on a tear all season long, and barring some injury, I think they're the clear favorites.

Plus Harlem was spot on in that they're the most protected team in the league. Whatever whistle they want to get, they get.

I've thought about these things you reference. I can't figure it to be honest. Frankly? I'm surprised I ain't been booted off, my IP locked out. And honestly I can say it now:::I had a strong feeling they were blustering about having the wherewithal to put a Timer on me. (tee, hee). And honestly I didn't think they'd go to the trouble to get one, but, everyone started bitching and writing in to her, so, she's into now.
