Hey! so yesterday was my first NBA game ever, and here are some thoughts for those who have never been able to watch the Spurs live:

- Players are way taller and skinner than what we see on tv... it is crazy how different they look when you see them live

-Ginobili is so cool with everybody during the practice, he goes up there to entertain those who go early, he made like 10 circus shots yesterday,
he also says hi and waves at everybody,

-The cheerleaders were all over Parker... lucky bastard

- SJackson made like 10 triples in a road in practice... they make basketball look very easy

-People over here actually like the spurs a lot, every time Duncan did an and-one, most of the fans would clap, they recognize the greatness of his play

-They do hate Captain Jack though, every time he got the ball everybody would boo him, it was pretty loud

-It is amazing how the fans of the warriors cheer for a team without any hope of doing something (by the end of the game everybody was screaming "JAMBA JUICE" because, I think, we were going to get one if the warrior made 100 points, lol, did not happen but it was fun)

I will post pics later! overall it was a great experience, I am definitely going to the last game, even if Pop only brings the Toros team and Bonner

Sounds like you had a blast at the game. It's a shame the Warriors aren't in contention more often, they had one of the best crowds I've ever seen during that Mavs series in 07. I actually enjoyed watching the crowd as much as the games.

The crowds in Phoenix used to chant "WE WANT TACOS!" if the suns scored over 100 they got Jack in the Box tacos

Not sure why they were booing Jack, considering how huge a part he was of their only playoff series win in the last 20 years. Why get pissed when an old guy doesn't want to play for a tanking team on the rebuild?

They've been pissed at Jack since 2009.

I remember seeing Dan Marley in warm up. He would not miss. He must have hit 20 3's from near half court in a row.

The worst about his trade request is that it was less than 1 year after they gave him a big contract extension.

Jack deserves to be booed by Warriors fans.

True.

Get to the ATT an hour before tip. There's a good chance you'll see Bonner going through his drills. Never misses in an empty arena.

he was missing a lot of those after the first half, he stood there and shoot until he made like 4 in a row... but before that he would make 1 and miss 2 or 3

Exactly! We were there early for game 5 vs. Memphis last year. With an empty arena, he hit like 12 of 15 from beyond the arc. But during the game, he goes 1 of 4 from beyond the arc for 5 lousy points in 20 minutes. What a pathetic, goofy-looking POS!!! :bang:bang:bang

I also notice that Jefferson was not that happy about greeting the spurs players. Green got close and hug him and Dick barely hug him back... weird

That's interesting. In spite of what we hear on ESPN and other national media outlets (about the Spurs being unpopular), I do notice a surprisingly healthy number of Spurs fans at road games. Nothing on par with the Lakers, but it's nice to see a good representation of Spurs fans in other NBA arenas.

Sounds like you had a great time at your first game. Cool!:toast

Hey were you sitting in the middle section in the Argentina jersey? And you walked down the stairs to take pictures? I think I saw you. I loved that game. We destroyed them haha. It was actually my first Spurs game ever. Not my first NBA game though. Had so much fun.
