I think it's cool.

I'm surprised Pop hasn't stared him down for doing it.

I want to see 3 goggles, tbh, but Pop will bench him for the rest of the year :lol.

I don't like it. It reeks of newcomer to the team. I like his enthusiasm, but leave the towel on the bench.

i'm a big fan of Spur players on the bench doing that. We had several dudes doing that in '03. Helped pump us up! :flag:

Biggest reason they won tonight, imo.

I won't break out the pie chart, but suffice to say tonight's victory was:

15% Laker defense
20% Tony Parker
65% Patty's towel-waving

As crazy as it sounds, I think there may be some true to it. It's good to have guys like Mills and Jackson that don't always do things the Spurs way.

70 10 and 20 if we're gonna truly break it down.

If anyone ever watched Patty when he was in Portland, that's just him. He's the ultimate team guy, which is why everyone likes him so much.

I also love how he's the first player off the court during timeouts that gives pats to every player on the floor. Great team guy. Not sure how long he'll last here but I'm sure the guys like him.

Hehehehehe. I met Malik when I was bartending at The Olive Garden like 10 years ago. He was getting ready to get him some ASSSSSSSS. Heheheheharhar. Dumb Bitch waited forever for HIM to show up at the fucken' bar. A little off-topic, I know... but I just couldn't help myself there. :lmao

You gotta love that, a guy trying to pump up his team even though he doesn't get to play. Hopefully he sticks around :toast

I like Patty waving his towel, and Stephen Jackson jumping up and down after a big play. Love the enthusiasm and the rest of the team should feed off their energy.

I for one like it. During all of our championship seasons we've had that one guy on the bench who is always first up clapping, fist pumping, or in this case, towel waving. Keep up the team morale, Patty!

The bench has come to life with the addition of Mills and Jax...It rubs off on others aswell! Reminds me of the days of Jack Haley(slightly)..that guy went nuts on just about every basket or play made..especially if it was the worm or admiral...if you dont like enthusiasm, go to sleep.

I like it gives us some personality. What about the Stephen Jackson shuffle though that shit was hilarious!

when did it happen?

After literally every basket yesterday :lol

Although it was most noticeable in the first half cause the Spurs were shooting at the basket where the visitors bench is at.

He did it the whole time during his two seasons at Portland, even when he came back to Aus to play during the lockout he was a largely a passionate/animated player.

Such humble beginnings for the best PG on the team. :tu

Best PG in the league, TBH. And now he's too good to wave his towels on the sideline like he once did. He should be spending his time on the bench teaching Murray how to wave towels. And holding towel-waving clinics on off days. Underprivileged kids could come and get their own little towels, and be taught the proper waving techniques by the best PG in the league. Then they could all come and be part of a towel-waving halftime show. It would be uplifting for the whole city.

Towel-waving was Patty's ticket to the top, and he needs to turn around and give a hand up to the aspiring towel-wavers behind him. It saddens me to think that he could be going to another team next year, and taking all that corporate towel knowledge with him.

Great, great thread. And, honestly, FKLA's best work. :tu
