As far as catchers go I'd put Pudge #2 all time behind Johnny Bench. I don't think he quite reached Bench's level. Although I'd say he's solidly at #2 with Fisk or Carter being a distant third.

Pudge's longevity is pretty remarkable. Most catchers fall of the face of the earth after they hit 1000 innings, but Pudge kept going. Looking back, the Pudge/Piazza debates of the 90's were pretty ridiculous, Pudge was way better.

I'd say Bench...and this is coming from a hardcore Rangers fan. Pudge is definitely second though.
