View Full Version : Spurs are lock to win 2012 title

Looks like destiny for my Spurs to win title.

Here's why:

My two favorite teams in sports are the Spurs and the Washington Redskins.

1982-83: The season was delayed because of a 57 day players strike. The Redskins won the Super Bowl that year.

1987-88 The season was delayed by a 24 day players strike and there were 3 games played by replacement players. The Redskins won the Super Bowl that year.

1999: The NBA season was shortened to 50 games because of a NBA lockout. My Spurs won their first title that year.

2012: The NBA had another lockout that shortened the season to 66 games.

I thought my streak of my teams winning in strike seasons was going to end this year because I gave the Spurs almost no chance to win their 5th championship. Now after the Spurs clinch the best record in WC tonight, these Spurs are actually the odds on favorite to win it all.

The only logical reason for this resurgence of our old Spurs is because apparently, I am very lucky in strike or lockout seasons.

:p:

Hi Jim!

It's been a while I haven't read anything from you. I remember you were much more active a few years back, you know in the days of that crazy jinxster. You know the guy who had the ability to fuck up even the most secure win by just making a post in here.

Can't remember his name though...

:lol true, but hopefully the RG3 era will turn around some bad luck even when we gave up all those draft picks, something I wasn't thrilled about.

Up until 1992, the Redskins were one of the top 5 NFL franchises as far as success( 3 SB trophies)

Admittedly, since then, it has been one long painful journey:bang

The Redskins haven't been much of a SB threat since JKC died and Danny Boy took over.

I'm old enough to remember the glory days, though...70 Chip, The Quarter, and Mark the Rypper... :hat

Howfield missed wide left at the end of regulation and Lohmiller won it in OT, 16-13, right? :hat

We (the Oilers) were rolling that year up until that Wash game. I think the Skins were also the frontrunners. Anyway that one loss cost Houston both momentum, and homefield against Denver in the playoffs. The roster had like 12 pro bowlers and would have put up a better effort than Buffalo. Anyway thank Christ for the Spurs lol.

crofl...what a nostalgic turn this thread made.

tbh my Dad is a big Skins fan and I remember watching that game w/ my bro at the old man's apt when I was 8...I remember him going apeshit when the Houston kicker missed that chippy--that win kept the Skins undefeated season (up to that point) alive iirc.

Real talk though, RG3 blows. Sorry Redskin fan.

I agree this thread is pretty retarded, but posts like these^ are just fucking gay.

What a cunty, uppity thing to say on a message board. I'm glad TD backhanded you as soon as you posted that.

Long enough to know that no Big 12 QB has ever won a playoff game as a starter...throw in his obvious genetic deficiencies and that's a recipe for failure:lol

Are we saying that RG3, Newton, Vick don't measure up with Brees, Manning, Brady?

Doug Williams (87) Warren Moon (91-93), Cunningham (98) could/should have won multiple rings between them. I think its a numbers game. One of these new guys will break through. With Snyder's $ I think Washington can get it done so RG has a great chance.

No way. How can you not rationalize this as anything other than a forshadowing of a 5th championship? I mean, look at the facts.

I was wondering why a bunch of old threads kept popping up, and then I realized they had all last been commented on by you. Listen dude, congrats to your team on winning but you really don't need to be on here trolling our threads. You guys won, congrats and move on to the Finals. Don't be like Laker fans. It's not a good look.
