Eventhough there are two more games left, I decided to just ask around to see what was everybody's favorite moment of this season?
For me, it was the game agaisnt the Clippers where in a matter of seconds, Gary Neal went from "butterfingers" to "f'n hero of the game"

The RJ trade is by far and away the best spurs moment of the 2012 season.
Seeing Tiago in the starting lineup for the very first time(?) is great too.

It's THE Trade. That's probably one of the best moments for the past 3 years IMO

You all have listed many of my favorites but I also loved Manu's behind the back pass to Leonard at the beginning of the year and Kawhi's dunk on Ibaka. Also, Parker's blow by on Blake was crazy crafty. Duncan's jam on the Mavericks and McRoberts was awesome too!

The Dallas OT loss gave us hope.
The RRT gave us confidence.
The RJ/Jackson trade brought us back to life.
The Diaw pick-up made us contenders.

Trading Dick for a pair of balls.
I saw this team going absolutely nowhere and was pessimistic on this season almost entirely because Dick looked completely untradeable. It still blows my mind that the Spurs saved $12 million and got a nice player in exchange for that fucking cancer to the team. Jefferson was such an enormous weak link to this team.

For me, the following were the best moments chronologically-
1) Danny Green's and the role players' explosion against Dallas before a close loss. -
This showed us that the role players were ready to compete and to help out the big 3 to contend. Danny Green came of age and Neal proved that last season was no fluke. Splitter looked better and better and the Spurs contended without Manu.
2) The trade for SJax and getting rid of RJ -
This was the monkey off the back moment for the Spurs. We all expected that Diaw will be an acquisition for the fifth big position at the waiver deadline... but no one expected that Jefferson would be leaving so soon. This accelerated the Spurs' chances of contention like no other this season.
3) The Spurs' double annihilation of the Lakers after the humiliating defeat in the first game -
These two games confirmed that the Spurs are no championship pretenders and a legitimate threat to the title.
Here's hoping to more memorable moments in the playoffs.

Tbh, there's a lot of little moments and big moments that have made this season awesome.
Kawhi Leonard
Danny Green
DeJuan Blair finally getting benched
Richard Jefferson finally getting traded
Tim Duncan turning back the clock
Boris Diaw fitting in
Gary Neal's clutch baskets against the Clippers and the Celtics
Manu's assist plays
Kawhi Leonard's dunk
Blowing out the Lakers twice
The list goes on....

Trading RJ for Jackson was definitely the defining moment for me. I enjoyed Tiago Splitter's development, Kawhi Leonard's rookie campaign, signing Boris Diaw, Green and Neal blossoming into legit role players, Tony Parker's brilliance, but none of that was as emotionally lifting as the trade.
I wasn't too thrilled with the FO's complacency coming into the season. But staying active and puling off a miracle trade like this has erased a lot of my doubts. Beyond Stephen Jackson the player, this move also reflects why our front office is considered to be one of the finest in the business.

Favorite on-court moment is easily the bullet pass from Manu vs LA though.

Tony Parker's play against the Lakers game 2 out of 3. Everyone was concerned and rightfully so going into that game after the beating the Lakers gave on our own home floor. Parker's play was in question and he needed to play well for us to have a chance. It's fair to say his play was everything and more than we could have asked for.

The trade. But if it is in game, I'd say the 2 times we beat LA lol.

There was a Spurs season. That is my favorite part. The fact that the Spurs have been so ridiculously dominant is icing on that cake.

So many great moments this season - but I've really enjoyed the last 8 games, watching the Spurs just annihilate every single opponent. The excitement is building, and I truly believe we will see Tim Duncan holding up another Larry O'Brien trophy when all is said and done.
The new guys have been just awesome, and of course it's great having Cap'n Jack back.

Personally, the moment my phone alerted me that RJ had been traded for JAX takes the cake; felt surreal at the time, and has proved to be the turning point of our season.

Have you not seen the mentality that it's brought to the team?

as most have already said, traded RJ for Captain Jack as well as picking up Diaw.
And to a lesser extent, Patty Mills, he has been quite sevicable as a backup for TP.

- Spurs drafting Kawhi
- TP stepping up when Manu went down
- The rest of the team stepping up when Manu went down
- Unloading RJ for SJ
- Watching two of Manu's bullet passes
- After last season's stats, the reemergence of Tim Duncan, watching him being active and driving
- Watching Kawhi being more assertive with his drives and dunks
- Feeling like this team has a good a chance as anyone else once the real season starts.

The excitement after the 2 LA wins are by far my favorite part of this season.
The trades, signings, youth improvement, and team chemistry would've meant nothing if we didnt bounce back from the LA loss. I was hyped about our team, but LA's huge frountcourt felt like the big bad bully we would have to overcome to have any shot in the playoffs. That loss to LA was the ultimate buzzkill.
The first LA ass-whooping proved we could do it, the second LA ass-whooping proved it wasn't a fluke and that this team is legit. :flag:

Favorite "moment" was really the entire RRT ... before the trip, it appeared that this group might just be a fringe playoff team after all. After the RRT, I had newfound faith in the Spurs as a legitimate contender.

Wow-what a turnaround this season has been!
My favorite moments, all the above ditto... but really the trade and bringing in Diaw. Without that everything else wouldn't have meant anything.
And, now we believe and I mean truly believe that this team can bring home the LOB once again. The pieces are are in place now let's watch this play out....

On court favorite = seeing splitter start in laker games. this just shows me that pop has not completely lost his mind. and honestly even diaw starting against them will be great.
Off court favorite = Reading that we got Stephen Jackson. It literally felt like my bday, I couldn't have been any happier at that moment.
