He was right about Dallas last year, but the year's before that...

Then again, before last year he was a horrible analyst/television personality. These days he isn't that bad. Maybe it has something to do with his predictions becoming truth? :lol

tbh I can't remember a single ST poster back in early December calling the Spurs to be a factor this season, much less win the title.

If I'm mistaken I'd love to know which one of ya'll had the vision.

Charles made a valid point in stating the additions in mid season and the mateurity of the Kahwi/Green combo is just cause for prediction.

I was deriding a guy I work with for being such a blind homer and told he we were going to have a nice season and a nice first round exit. We were going no where. Now the guy still is a blind homer (stacks his fantasy team with only spurs he even held onto manu the whole season), and we don't know what is going to happen next week, but suffice to say I was wrong.

A lot of people in here are too concerned about what the media says about the Spurs, for better or worse. It's ok to listen to them, but draw your own conclusions. A lot of the media is a circus that needs to sell their product everyday.

I liked the roster and always thought the Spurs were to be in the finals this year. But I didn't thought Green was to be so good, or that Duncan was to recover some of his vintage form, also the RJ for Jack trade and the addition of Diaw is an important factor. The Spurs have chances to win it all, but I wouldn't call them favorites. At least not until seeing how does a 10 players rotation function against a shortened one.

Yes, albeit, begrudgingly. He pretty much knows the truth deep down, and it usually only comes out when he's backed into a corner from what I've observed. He's very dry and full of sarcasm when he 'praises' them, and other times he'll just up and fly on The Spurs Bandwagon out of effin' nowhere. He clearly has a love/hate 'relationship' with Duncan and The Spurs. Seems to looove the taste of his own foot, IMO. Salty, there much, "Sir Chuckster?" :lol

I believed it from the beginning. My problem was Pop's big rotation, even back to last year, I felt we could have as long as he had the right lineups. He just didn't. Seems like he may now.

Yes. AGAIN>>> Begrudgingly. Usually/afterwards, he will run his mouth about his OWN achievements, and how he thinks HE was the greatest PF ever. He fights about it with himself constantly, and it's SO old already. Get over it, Barkley. He simply loves to hear himself talk. He rambles. End of story (but never for him, of course).

his OWN achievements, and how he thinks HE was the greatest PF ever.

I'd have to find the video but I'm almost positive he said TD was the best PF ever a few games ago. I don't think he even proclaimed himself second on that list.

Charles has also always given props to the Spurs btw.

FFS. I'm pretty sure it was during the beatdown at LA last week that he did praise Timmy but theeennnn steered the conversation back to his own ass, snidely. I'm pretty damn sure of it... if anyone can find that video. If I am wrong, than shoot me already. :rolleyes

Shaq said the Spurs would win it all BEFORE the season started. Props to him. Not that we've won anything yet, but I sure as hell NEVER saw this coming.

After we lost Ginobili with the broken hand, I thought we were toast. I thought making the playoffs would be a huge goal to achieve. But to finish 1st in the West and ending the season on the roll we've been on ?

NO WAY. This team has been fun to watch. Now the real season begins.

I was one of the ones who said we were contenders while every else got off the bandwagon. It is going to be so sweet when I am one of the only true Spurs fans that was with this team from BEFORE the season started and they win a championship. I will be the only one allowed to really celebrate the victory as a true fan because everyone else abandoned ship before deciding to hitch themselves back onto the wagon.

Actually the last year he predict the Spurs winning was in 2007, so it just might be a good omen.

He actually picked the Jazz to beat the Spurs in 2007. Everybody else realized the Suns series was the defacto Finals.

You really don't. Chuck has always said Tim Duncan is the greatest PF of all time, and has a lot of respect for him.

And honestly, deep down he's a Spurs lover, I think it all started with Manu's 2nd year in the NBA, which started the whole "GINOBILIII" craze.

Shaq was actually the one who calmed me down this year right after Manu's injury. He called it a "Blessing in Disguise", and he didn't care when everyone tried to challenge him on this. Thank you, Shaq. That certainly helped me throughout the season... and sure enough things just started to get better and better. And I pray that they will only continue to do just that. :toast
