View Full Version : sons LMAO at the Spurs "great" fanbase, hundreds of $2 playoff tickets available

sons all this talk about the Spurs having such a wonderful fanbase and they can't even sell their playoff tickets for a decent price. currently on stubhub and other ticket sites there are HUNDREDS of playoff tickets available for $2.00-$5.00 each.
sons the reason I am bringing this up is because some of you thought that it was funny when the Hornets would have several dozen sets of REGULAR SEASON game tickets on a Tuesday night vs Toronto available for less than $1.00 this season. The Spurs have arguably the best team in the NBA this season and we're talking about PLAYOFF GAMES now. wow just wow ...

son don't get mad about it. why are you dropping F-bombs? I'm just posting this because ...
1. Spur fan gave me hell about the Hornets having cheap regular season tickets against BS teams
2. its the PLAYOFFS and San Antonio has arguably the best team in the entire league. I am very surprised they can't get a decent fan base behind them and that they have to resort to basically giving tickets away in order to get people to attend the games.

son that simply isn't true. if you took the time to look there were hundreds of tickets available in sets of anywhere from 1-8 tickets side by side.
Pretty pathetic tbh. Although to be somewhat fair the opponent does matter, Utah wont attract casual fans. Tickets for the Lakers game when Kobe came back from injury for example, were like $100+ in the upper level on gameday.
Budkin
04-29-2012, 03:27 PM
This is the same thing that happened against the Jazz in the 2007 WCF. Without a great opponent a lot of people just pass. I think it's lame. I thought the days of people just assuming the Spurs were going to win ended after getting embarrassed last year. Back in the Hemisfair and even the Alamodome days every damn seat would be full.

The franchise needs to take advantage of San Antonio's bean3r demographic like the Lakers and Dodgers do by offering cheap food and drink. If concessions are expensive, bean3rs won't attend, regardless of how cheap the tickets are. You do something like an all you can eat promotion or give away free burritos if Duncan records a double-double, you'll have no problem selling tickets, even at a much higher price.

It wasn't 1,000's of tickets priced at 2 dollars. It was a handful.
son first of all I never once said it was "1,000's of tickets priced at 2 dollars" as you can see from the title of this thread, I said hundreds. oh and no it wasn't just a "handful" either, it was in the hundreds. however there were thousands of tickets for less than $10-12 at the time.
he could have slid the price range bar to see how many 2 dollar tickets there were, which was 7 when I did it last night.
lol son are you sure you want to stick with that blatant lie of it only being (7) $2.00 tickets available last night? all you have to do is look at the screen cap I attached to the first post of this thread last night and that will expose your lie. as you can see from the screen cap just on the first page of results alone shows (15) different $2.00 tickets available and if you scrolled down there were hundreds more. there were also several hundred for less than $5.00. see below ...

so what son? the Super Bowl also has thousands of tickets available for sale through ticket brokers as well. the difference is the Spurs playoff tickets this season are going for as little as $2 with hundreds of them available. check OKC's game 2 and the cheapest you will find is around $44.00. here is a link in case you think you're going to try and avoid it ...

The only people who say the Spurs don't have a good fanbase are those who have never been to a Spurs game.
:lmao at Saints fan talking about a shitty fanbase...I still remember seeing Saints games filled with people with paper bags on their heads until they won the Super Bowl. Talk about shitty fans. Come on son..you know better than that.

You would think that even the casual observer would recognize that when a small market team makes FIFTEEN STRAIGHT playoff appearances, and they're facing a weak ass bunch of Momos who don't even have a chance to compete, and it is the first round, and a chip is the only acceptable outcome.... that yeah, maybe there will be some bleeds available on the cheap. It's not like you can score with the Momo visiting chicks, unless you think a handy is "scoring".

But it should be noted that the Spurs play in front of sellout crowds just about every night: The AT&T Center was filled to an average of 99 percent capacity during the 2011-12 season.

son obviously its another "bogus" sellout game thanks to large corporations and other local businesses/sponsors buying out blocks of tickets and now just trying to unload them for next to nothing.
Local businesses doing the community a good service.
Even those rich capitalists are classy in San Antonio.

The paper bags were around during the 1-15 1981 season. Idiot. Get a clue. The Saints have sold out every home game since 2006, 3 years before they won the Super Bowl.

And the Spurs continue to sell out every home game...82 games to 16...my point is that someone who cheers for the New Orleans freaking Hornets has no right to bash on SPURS fans...Most unwanted tickets in the NBA.

son the Saints were the pioneer of paper bagging
"In 1980, the Saints lost their first 14 games, prompting local sportscaster Bernard "Buddy D" Diliberto to advise Saints supporters to wear paper bags over their heads at the team's home games; many bags rendered the club's name as the "'Aints" rather than the "Saints." The practice of wearing a bag over one's head then spread rapidly, first to fans of other poorly performing teams within the NFL, and ultimately to those of other American team sports, and has become a firmly established custom throughout the United States."
