It's been 1,471 days since the San Antonio Spurs have won Game 1 of any playoff series. Not since this happened:

It's been a long time.

Much too long.

Believe.

Game 1 of the Suns-Spurs series in 2008 belonged in Game 7 of the Finals, not in the first game of the first round. It was an epic game.

We also should have beaten the Lakers in Game 1 of the WCF.......epic collapse.

Great. Now hopefully some of these baby, whining, weak ass fans who are embarrassing real Spurs fans will stop crying over Splitter's sprained wrist and pooping their pants in terror over Memphis. Its the Memphis Grizzlies, are you guys kidding me?

Now, the Spurs have won a Game 1, that's great.

7-game series + broken plane = tired legs in the 4th quarter of Game 1.

If it's any consolation, NOBODY was beating the Celtics that year.

Yep, but those were long seasons! In 1999 in a shortened year they won game one! So it goes in cycles there! Lockout year we win the game one and win a title!
7-game series + broken plane = tired legs in the 4th quarter of Game 1.

If it's any consolation, NOBODY was beating the Celtics that year.

Everytime I think of that game one and the Barry non foul and that game 5 with the lead and saying we should have had it! I think about that Celts team that year, nobody was beating them you are right! So all is well.

The .4 thing too, I feel we would not beat Detroit that year, they were getting HOT! We had Rasho that year and no Nazr! Plus Barry came the next year and he was key to beating Detroit when Tony did his freeze up in the finals! Spurs lose those two series IMO if they won those ones that left us broken! In 06 Spurs do beat the Heat in the finals no doubt, but those other two we would lose IMO!

Spurs COULD BE 5-7 in the finals at worst IMO! I know thats one more ring but the undefeated thing goes outta the window.

I wonder if this guy had read timvp's and decided to run with this intriguing little fact.

http://blog.mysanantonio.com/spursnation/2012/04/29/six-quick-takes-spurs-get-a-game-1-victory-for-a-change/

Game 1 victories have been at a premium for the Spurs the last few years.

Their 106-91 triumph over Utah snapped a streak of six consecutive Game 1 losses.

How long ago was the Spurs’ last Game 1 victory? It came on April 19, 2008 — exactly 1,471 days ago.
