Thought now would be a good time to make my first thread!

I've been a Spurs fan for a while now, haven't missed a match in six weeks since I tore a cartilage in my knee, meaning no work and 3am starts aren't a problem for me (cool story bro, I know). Not sure if there's any other UK fans on here but thought I'd let you all know there's at least one :flag:

Good luck to the Spurs & all of you lucky enough to go to the matches :toast

Yeah a 6pm start makes a nice change from 3.30am that's for sure!

I only started following Spurs a few years ago, largely due to being a Tottenham Hotspur soccer fan...but love the small market, 'doing things the right way' style of play.

Here's hoping for number 5 :toast

Sounds scarily like me!

Big (Tottenham) Spurs fan, been supporting San Antonio for 3 years now
(because of the name and because Manu was (and remains) my favourite player)

You watching Spurs Blackburn right now? Let's hope for sequential wins!

You were in 'Lester Square' I take it? :lol

Yep, a good day of sport today, Two sets of Spurs wins would be nice. I'm in Wembley, right next to the stadium. Not looking forward to going back to work in 2 weeks and having to work the playoffs around my sleeping patterns.

I figured the Jazz are popular in the UK on account of having John Amaechi play for them.

If any team is popular, it is likely the Bulls because of Deng

Basketball isn't really a sport followed by the masses over here. You get the occasional sports shops stocking Heat / Lakers shirts for those who like to pretend like they're fans. I've yet to find a store stocking Spurs shirts as you'd expect... I may invest in one online for next season though.

Thanks for the welcomes too, didn't realise there was so much love for the UK, thought most people hated us :lol

In the last ten years, that I have really paid attention I have seen only one Spurs jersey in an European store (and I travel a lot). It was a very cheap looking replica away jersey with Manu's name and number.

Heat / Lakers (and a couple of years back Cavaliers jersey) are relatively easy to find.

The city where I saw the most NBA jerseys being worn in the street was Belgrade.

Rugby matters put aside, the UK is quite popular in France tbh

Bulls are popular, but not really because of Deng.

People assume the Bulls have been one of the best teams in the league for the last 20 years because of course they all know MJ.

In the minds of most Brits there are the Lakers, the Bulls, the Knicks at the top of the tree. And now the Heat are more well known. A bit of Celtics (Irish connection) and Sixer (Iverson) love. No-one's really heard of the Spurs/Mavs/Suns/insert Western Conference team here.
