Although ...
The company I used to work for had a project with with a San Antonio based client
Their manager would come once in a while here; I told him I was a Spurs fan
Turns out he is Sean Elliott's neighbour
Man, he has ripped Pop so many times for small ball and playing Bonner too much :lol
I recently asked him if Sean could sign on my Manu jersey; he should be back in Montreal around June
(he confirmed by email that Sean already signed the autograph)
Cant wait

It's either 6PM or 10PM. The Spurs aren't going to get the prime spot until they advance a round or two. Both teams have to show up at the same time, so it's just something to deal with.
I really miss when TNT and TBS had games on at the same time. Four a night made for better scheduling and seems like the first round didn't take as long.

Stop your whinnng. I moved away from SA in 84, so for 7 years, I went to all the playoff games only to see them bow out to Lakers and Bullets every year. Since I left, they have won 4 championships and only Finals game I saw live was game 2 against Knicks. Now I have to wait til the Spurs have a home playoff game on a Saturday in order to see them play, which only happens every blue moon. So boohoo, the Spurs have a couple of weird starting times so you spoiled brats have to adjust your schedules in order to watch them. BTW, there is such a thing as a DVR.

Yeah, I'm not liking the start time either. Every Wednesday I play basketball with some guys from work, and since I had to work last week, I want to be there this week. It's the only time I get to get out and get some cardio exercise, so I don't like missing it.
And I don't like to DVR the game because I went on a run of like 3 games in a row where, when I recorded the game, the Spurs lost. Stupid superstition I know, and has nothing to do with the outcome of the game, but, you know, I can't risk it.
If the game is on Fox Sports, then I can watch the replay of DVR that and run through it tomorrow.

My kids can't wear the colors of the opposing teams. On game day, my shirt has to be black or gray too. I won't go any further, but that's only the start.
It started as just wearing my teams colors since I'm not a jersey guy, but it kind of morphed from there.

Actually 5 o'clock, its an hour difference I believe.
But yea good point regardless. I've been pissed about the times as well but meanwhile in Utah game one started at 11 in the morning (when all the Mormons were in church) and now tonight the game will be at 5. 6PM start time is bullshit, it'll be tough for our arena to be packed when everyone has to worry about getting there from work. Pretty unfair to impact a teams home court advantage like that for the playoffs tbh.

sad but true. when I was younger I remember games being much more electric. still a disadvantage nonetheless, I will say SA crowd steps it up come playoff time and with the arena being relatively 'meh' at the beginning of games already having half the fans still finding their seats or headed to the stadium is not the best situation to be in. that said, I dont think it'll matter, but not the fairest shake regardless.

fair enough, I'll be the first to admit our crowd doesnt hold a candle to the OKCs or even Utahs of the league. We used to be a lot better, even to the point where we would be mentioned among the tougher places to play, but its been a long, long time since then. I honeslt think our winning ways have spoiled our fan base, the desire and drive just isnt there like it used to be. People still love the Spurs just as much, but having been to the top so many times before coming up short doesnt hurt nearly as much, and having been through so many intense playoff runs in the past the crowd seems to take it for granted now.

I remember when I first started going to games at the Hemisphair Arena. That place was loud, the crowd was literally on top of the court. The baseline line bums were actually on the baseline and would more than likely physically injure an opposing player that got near them. Good times!

My first Spurs games were spent on my grandfather's lap at Hemisfair arena. I dont remember much but I remember it was LOUD.
(side bar: My grandfather was essential in brokering the move of the Chapparals to San Antonio, but because he wasnt one of the wealthier backers like Red or Drossos he never gets the credit. Tim Derk did give him a nice shout out in his book from a few years back, where he recounts the anecdote of my grandpa discovering him at San Pedro Playhouse in a vaudeville act and recruiting him to be the team's mascot. He did misspell our family's name, but it always gets misspelled and Derk seems like a great guy by all accounts so I've let it slide :p:)

At the Hemisfair Arena, my ears were always ringing after every game, even regular season games. Playoff games would practically leave you deaf for an hour afterwards. The crowds at At&T Center today are more like Laker crowds, sad but true.
The PA announcer even has to say that ubiquitous "A little help" line which is quite embarrassing really.

Point is, the PA announcer thought there was a need to say that, cuz the arena would be dead at points. I mean I could actually carry on a conversation with my friends without screaming. I don't think you can do that in Oklahoma City. The Spurs crowd has really gotten lame over the past 10 years, unless it was late in 4th Q, or there is a rival game.
I do not know why this transformation has come about, but it sucks.
