Not sure what else would qualify as a substantial upgrade. It wasn't anything revolutionary for sure, but the changes are more than incremental.

I'd say a screen that is major upgrade from S2 (minor from Nexus), evolution of TouchWiz (software), and quad-core are pretty decent upgrades, among other things.

esp with dropbox, amazon, skydrive, google drive etc, etc all each offering at least a few GB. I got my dropbox up to 7.5 just syncing my daughter's iPod videos of our dogs and random shit in the yard with the auto upload free space giveaways

If we're comparing the S3 to the S2, it's more of an upgrade than the iPhone 4->4S was. Granted, that's partly because the S2 was behind on the screen (480x800), while the 4 was already a retina by then. However, this upgrade combines hardware upgrades with software, kinda like the 3GS --> 4.

Retina has a higher density than the S3, but the difference between the Nexus and iPhone 4s isn't that bad. Yeah, but I don't know, maybe they're trying to save costs because of the 4.8" screen, lol.

Huge jump from the e4g. The processor doesn't only have a substantially faster clock speed, but the chip architechture is far more advanced (for example the US version of the OneX (and 4g lte) has a dual core processor whose architecture is so advanced that it slightly edges the quad core international One X in performance.

You have more space on board including more (faster) ram.

You are going to see an ENORMOUS difference in the quality of the photos that you take (even without messing with any settings), and that screen is far far superior to the one you have been using.

Lastly, LTE. san antonio will be in the first four cities to get it. I have seen speedtests of sprint's LTE and it is averaging at about 40 Mbps. For comparison's sake the best I have gotten on wimax is 12, but I average about 7 or 8.

if you have the upgrade and want a phone now, do it. If you have a little patience, wait for the sgsIII to be released (to compare the two before you buy). I am hearing june 20th is the day for that.

i think the 4g LTE is the same as the One X, but Drachen would know for sure. If you were interested in an iPhone it would probably be best to wait a bit and see what they come out with.

Also, because the US version is just dual core Snapdragon compared to the international version which is quad core Exynos. I still haven't sorted out the difference.
