I feel bad for him. He's fought injuries most of his career. I think we'll see him back for the 13/14 season but he'll be a shell of his shell self. If Shaun Livingston can come back so can he.

Livingston was 20 somethin, Davis is like 33, he's well done.

Yeah and even then look at how Livingston's career panned out post-injury. Sad to say this as Baron Davis is one of my favorite non-spurs player, but he's done.

It's not as bad as you would think. Baron was at the end of his career anyways. Sucks to have it ended this way but he was going to retire after this year or next so it wasn't like a Roy type career ending that had you saying damn too bad.

It was amazing for a young player to bounce back from that kind of injury and become kinda serviceable, Baron is old and already had 1 foot out of the door before the injury. He will be going to movies after he recovers, done with NBA.

Hence the shell of his shell comment I made. Livingston's injury was awful and no one thought he'd be back. He started playing basketball again 16 months later. Yes, he was far younger than Davis. I don't think Baron is going to retire because of this injury. But he's pretty much done as a relevant player. Most likely a bench guy in 13/14 season.

Holy shit. Welp, good luck to Baron Davis, liked his game. So how many torn ACLs does this make? Three?

3 in the playoffs. Rubio tore ACL earlier. I'm sure there was another I'm missing.

Didn't Zbo tear his MCL? Know it's not his ACL, but it's still another serious knee injury.

Portland's exploding knee syndrome is beginning to spread...

rofl Baron Davis was a donut away from being too out of shape to play whenever he was healthy. He's not gonna suddenly find the work ethic it would take a for a 34 year old to make a recovery from this. This injury isn't something to really blame on Stern at all, B-Diddy has no one to blame but himself for all the career injuries he's had.

^he's been regressing for years, it isn't even all an issue of being out of shape. those injuries took a toll man, he was borderline even good enough to be a backup pg in the league BEFORE his kneecap ended up somehow on his head :lol

Him being out of shape isn't the issue in and if itself, what I'm saying is someone who's had a shit work ethic for years to the point where he's barely in basketball shape isn't someone who's gonna suddenly work extra hard to rehab.

That's sad, but I'm still PO'd with him. Like Shaq, he had a TON of talent. Then he got fat and happy (literally). He left a lot on the table. He had HOF talent and I expected so much more from him.

This may be the end for him. Not too many PGs come back from this kind of injury - especially given his age. What a waste tbh.

I feel bad for the guy and I'm trying to be optimistic on his future. Everyone is saying he's done; so someone has to say otherwise. I wouldn't bet money on it but I think we'll see him in uniform sometime during the 13/14 season.

He'll be 35 by then. I want to be with you on this one, but it's not likely. The only effective PGs at age 35 were Stockton, Nash, and Kidd (off the top of my head). The difference is they were all in great shape to begin with and didn't suffer any major injuries. Today's NBA is a young man's game. I don't see Baron getting into the type of shape it takes to be competitive. Why? Because before he got hurt he had every opportunity to do so and failed miserably.

:crywho knew that being out of shape and fat while trying to play professional basketball could result in injury:cry

Sure but an injury to end a career is the worst.
