Nice stat for the history books. If we make it to the finals i'd be betting he'd get the 16 this year. If we only make it to the WCF it's 50/50 that he'd do it, if we go down in the semi's there's no chance.

Even at 3rd, that's quite an accomplishment, tbh.

Sure Timmy will be the all-time playoff block leader in the playoffs as long as the spurs are able to be in the western conference final

stat just proves Duncan was robbed
I dont know how he can have 0 DPOY
he anchored some of the best defensive teams of all time and could possibly be the alltime playoff block leader

3 to go...

I think we can all agree, that he will get there in this playoffs (having at worst 4 more games to play).

but who cares?!?

we gotta win #5!!!!

Because Dwight Howard is the greatest defender in the history of history. Sheesh, it's like you've never perused a box score or owned a fantasy team!

TBH I didn't think he was going to get close to it. Now that he's only 3 away he might crush it

At first I thought it was simply because Tim has played in so many playoff games...

But it turns it he is averaging a very robust 2.54 blocks per playoff game. Better than Kareem and Shaq.

He has the rest of this postseason and at least two more postseasons after that... He'll break it.

All with his size & timing.

But lets get real Tim on the top 5 & there are no PF's there, which just furthers the fact that he's always been a Center.

It's important to note that Kareem's block totals are missing the first four seasons of his career, when blocks weren't a counted stat. Tim is amazing, and is going to be on the top of the list for players in the full box score era. But realistic projection will likely still put him behind Kareem, and likely also Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain.

Tim Duncan should have at least 2 DPOYs, and Bruce Bowen got robbed once or twice as well.

Timmy's only 3 blocks away from tying Kareem now. He should have it before this series it over for sure, possibly as early as game 4.

As for why Duncan didn't get any DOPY awards. . .whoever votes for that stuff is too busy giving it to the guy with the most blocks or the highest combined blocks/steals, not the actual best defensive players. This year I think Chandler was pretty deserving of it though.

Having a lot of blocks = center now? That's news to me.

Duncan's been playing C the last few years, but DRob was obviously our center 'til he retired (so that's the first 6 years of Duncan's career), and we had quite a few real centers patrolling the paint in the meantime too until about 2008-2009. Duncan's pretty much had to play C on defense out of neccessity lately because we can't draft or sign any decent C's since all the good draft pick centers get grabbed up right away and nobody wants to play here unless we pay them more than anyone else will and we just don't have the cash. :\

KG got it one year when it was between him and TD. And Camby got it when Tim or Bruce should have won DPOY. Sean was very irked with Camby winning I recall.
