View Full Version : Dwight Freeney puts LeBron James on blast

From PFT, not exactly NBA news but two seasons later and everyone still thinks LeBron is a bitch

Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney is 32 years old. He’s due a whopping $14.035 million base salary. Indianapolis is changing defensive schemes for the first time in Freeney’s career. But new coach Chuck Pagano and G.M. Ryan Grigson want to keep their top pass rusher, and Freeney has bought in.

“I’m kind of old school when it comes to that thought,” Freeney told Alex Marvez of Sirius XM Radio. “I’m not LeBron trying to leave the team. I’m more like the era of Magic and Lawrence Taylor, who stayed with that same team for their entire careers win, lose, or draw. They were married to the city they were drafted in. You go through the tough times and great times with them, and that’s it. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”

Collecting over fourteen million bucks surely makes life easier, but Freeney’s approach is honorable in the sense that the Colts lost 14 games last season and must rebuild the roster. They do plan to be competitive in 2012, however, and have demonstrated that by re-signing Robert Mathis and Reggie Wayne, while retaining Freeney despite large salary cap implications.

Owned. Hopefully this leads to beef between the two that can only be settled in the Octagon on PPV.

When am I ever going to get to post a Colts related article in the NBA forum ever again? Let me have my moment.

- Magic played on a stacked team with a HOF coach

- Lebron played with scrubs in Cleveland

Overrated? No...Does it exist anymore? Rarely, unfortunately.

Why are people still bringing up Lebron leaving? Is he the only one in professional sports who went to another team because the team he was on wasn't winning it all after years of trying? Not owned tbh

LeBron's not the only bitch who couldn't do it himself so he bailed on the team that drafted him. But he's definitely the only bitch that made a spectacle out of it live on ESPN.

This is true, and it simply doesn't exist. People confuse "loyalty" with "Living in the same city for close to 10 years where tons of your friends and family are so you really don't feel like moving somewhere else to end your career".

MJ won a title in his 7th season (counting the season he was injured)
Lebron stayed in Cleveland for 7 seasons before leaving.

Lebron also didn't have a 25 year old future hall of famer on the Cleveland team he left. It's a rather asinine comparison.

I agree. I'm not defending Lebron's collapse last year. I'm only talking about his days in Cleveland. This year the level of competition is particularly worse.

You're helping my argument though. If he can't win a title with his superfriends, then he sure as fuck can't win a title with the supporting cast he had in Cleveland.

That's assuming he wouldn't have been forced to mature & improve. In Miami he can just stand on the 3 point line & watch Wade perform

You're being dishonest with yourself if you're truly convinced he's watching Wade. He's their leading rebounder and scorer. Maturing and improving is only gonna happen if he wants it to happen, and it was actually less likely to happen when he had a shit supporting cast as an excuse every time Cleveland came up short.

crofl he took a starting lineup of Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, Luke Walton and Lamar Odom to the playoffs in the stacked West. Twice. There are no excuses with the appalling lack of talent in the Lakers during those times.

Given that he's won two titles since then, any doubts about Kobe without Shaq are long dead and buried now, just like Dirk answered all the questions last year.

If and when LeBron wins a title, his leg jockeys can tell the rest of us to shut up. Until then, he's just the captain of the Karl Malone All-Stars.
