View Full Version : I'm gonna eff you guys up!
From Bill Simmons mailbag 2/4/2011 (Sometimes I can't sleep and read old shit on Grantland. Fuck you.)
Q: After drinking for a few hours at the Yardhouse before going to the Bobcats versus Clippers game and drinking the entire game, my friends and I, who were sitting close to the Bobcats' bench, decided it would be a good idea to start heckling Stephen Jackson, aka Krazee-Eyez Killa, at the end of the game. NOT a good idea. He pointed at us and said "I'm gonna f--- you guys up." For the rest of the game and the whole walk to our car I kept looking behind my back to see if he was following us. Even in the car I figured he might drive up next to us and I would end up on "1000 Ways to Die," the Stephen Jackson edition. Turns out you should NEVER EVER mess with Stephen Jackson.

Its strange we still feel the need for a bad ass.
Just keep it on the court please. We need you mating with pressure, not going after drunk fans again.

Eh that shit won't ever happen again, NBA arenas have more (probably armed) security now, they don't sell beer after the 3rd quarter and nobody wants to be suspended for the rest of the season. Stern hit Artest so hard nobody would ever try that again.
Who's Bill Simmons?
Sports writer that does it from the fan perspective, but he's all up on the Boston teams dicks and is still on his period about the Celtics not winning the Tim Duncan lottery
Well, that's the only thing he bitched about, and really can you blame him after over a decade of dismal play by the Celtics despite being in an inferior Eastern Conference.
No I totally get his point of view on not winning the Duncan lottery and don't hold it against him, it's just funny how it comes up every now and then in his columns. He was pretty insufferable in the early 2000s but once Peyton Manning won a Super Bowl and a year later the Patriots choked in the Super Bowl with a chance to go undefeated, he's mellowed a little bit.
He (like every Patriots fan) was a bigtime prick in the 2007 NFL season and completely got what he deserved.

Stephen Jackson will go into the stands again to back up a teammate. Hopefully Tim Duncan and Matt Bonner can resist the urge to run into the stands.

His butthurt over Phoenix's 0 & 43 is probably worse; still a great writer though.

One of the big excuses people used was that Duncan, and especially Robinson, were to nice to actually win a championship. The older Spurs fans will remember the crap Robinson received for being too nice.
So it was a hell of a lot of fun to shoot down that theory after the Detroit bad boys etc... I personally would like to do so again. I love the fact that Duncan picks up the opposition, gives em a pat on the butt, and then promptly makes them look silly on the court. Its so much more satisfying to give the opposition nothing to hate, causing them to invent bizarre Stern theories.

Duncan has already caused Joey Crawford to go ape, so who knows.
