The home of Denver Nuggets star Chris Andersen -- aka The Birdman -- is being investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children task force in Colorado ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement tells TMZ ... the Douglas County Sheriff's Dept. received a tip from a California law enforcement agency back in February ... and finally searched Andersen's home early this morning. We're told officials seized property from the residence during the search.

We're told Andersen has not been arrested -- or charged with a crime.
Chris' attorney had no comment.

DENVER -- Douglas County sheriff's deputies have searched the home of popular Denver Nuggets center Chris "Birdman" Andersen.

Sheriff's spokesman Ron Hanavan confirmed that the search took place Thursday as part of an investigation conducted by the department's Internet Crimes Against Children unit. Andersen has not been arrested and Hanavan said no arrest warrant has been issued.

The department began investigating Andersen in February after receiving information from a law enforcement agency in California. Hanavan declined to release details, including the nature of any pending charges, citing an ongoing investigation. He said they're asking that the case be sealed.

The sheriff's office said it recovered property from Andersen's home that investigators believe is connected with the case. Hanavan wouldn't comment on what was taken or release a document listing the property, citing the pending investigation.

Mark Bryant, who serves as Andersen's agent and attorney, said: "At this time, I respect the process and I have no further comment to protect the integrity of everyone involved. We'll proceed from there."

A message left at Andersen's home wasn't immediately returned Thursday to The Associated Press.

The Nuggets had no immediate comment.

Andersen, 33, is in his 10th year in the NBA and his seventh season in Denver, although his playing time dropped dramatically this season as young players gobbled up more minutes.

He averaged 5.3 points and 4.6 rebounds in the regular season and hasn't played in the Nuggets' first-round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Andersen has a history of helping out children's charities during his time in Denver and New Orleans, where he played from 2004 to 2008. According to the Nuggets' media guide, Andersen raised money for Mount Saint Vincent, a home for troubled and abused children, and was honored at the home's 2009 Silver Bell Ball.

He's also involved with Alliance for Choice in Education, which provides scholarships for low-income families to use in private schools.

His middle name is Claus, and he dressed up as Santa to raise money for ACE in 2009, according to his media guide bio. He also helped with hunger initiatives while with the Hornets.

San Antonion Spurs ALL-STAR Convicted Of Child Sex Trafficking

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Former NBA All-Star Alvin Robertson (http://content.usatoday.com/topics/topic/Alvin+Robertson) faces sexual assault of a child and sex trafficking charges alleging he was among seven people who kidnapped a 14-year-old girl who was forced into prostitution and made to dance at a strip club, authorities said Friday.
Robertson was taken into custody Friday in Bentonville, Ark., said Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy Ino Badillo. Robertson lives in San Antonio.
The arrest comes as part of an investigation that began last April when a 14-year-old girl waved down a police cruiser in Corpus Christi and told authorities she had been abducted from San Antonio, Badillo said. She told police she was driven around the city and forced to have sex with various men before being driven to Corpus Christi and forced to dance at a strip club.
The girl escaped her alleged captor, Leslie Campbell, while he was showering, Badillo said. The 49-year-old Corpus Christi man pleaded guilty last month to sexual assault of a child.
Badillo said he didn't know the circumstances of the girl's abduction, but her parents previously had reported her as a runaway. He said the girl was able to identify several of her assailants and the locations she was taken in great detail.


Robertson's girlfriend, Raquel McIntosh, 41, of San Antonio was arrested early Friday on charges of sex trafficking of a minor and forcing a sexual performance by a child, Badillo said. Directory assistance had no listing for McIntosh, and Badillo said he didn't know if she had an attorney.


Robertson was sentenced to three years in prison in 2002 for a probation violation involving a rape accusation. His longtime former girlfriend later recanted the allegation. In 1997, the year after he retired from the NBA, he was sentenced to a year in jail after pleading no-contest to a string of misdemeanors stemming from quarrels with another former girlfriend.
The seventh overall pick in the 1984 draft, Robertson averaged 14 points over 10 seasons — six with the Spurs — and was voted to four All-Star games.
