Congrats Harden... Speaking of awards, they better hurry up and reward LJ with his MVP trophy while his team is still in the playoffs.

Why is the 6MOY always a pseudo starter?

Why? He's not a superstar but he's probably a max level player.

Because stars who play off the bench are better than non-stars who come off the bench? That's how the whole star thing works, generally.

To me, this is one of the biggest awards in the league. This basically says this guy comes off the bench when he could be starting for most other teams (any other team probably), and not many players who are starting 5 caliber will accept that role.

Explain "pseudo starter".

There are 5 guys who start. Anyone else comes off the bench, minutes be damned.

Not now or next year, imo.

There is only one max player in Oklahoma City.

He comes off the bench, but he plays minutes as the other starters and in crunch time. These are players are good enough to start and better than all real bench players.

Yeah, it's a pretty stupid award. IMO a true "6th man" goes beyond starting/not starting. One of my least favorite players but the last true 6th man to win the award was Leandro Barbosa.

Obviously.

If he doesn't get extended by the Thunder some team will throw the max at him in the summer of 2014. I think they'll work something out before then though.

Gonna be tough for the Thunder to keep him and Ibaka though. lol Westbrook extension.

Harden is on another level than Ben Gordon..

He's one of the most efficient perimeter players of our generation..he's a complete offensive player, not just a scorer..

Ginobili is the constant comparison, and it's very fitting..Manu was much better on the defensive end, but Harden may have the advantage in durability, time will tell..
