HA HA

Andrew RafnLuck_The_Fakers_er is a recentLuck_The_Fakers_ly libLuck_The_Fakers_erLuck_The_Fakers_atLuck_The_Fa kers_ed fan and writer from Los AngeLuck_The_Fakers_les. He owns two Sasha Vujacic jerLuck_The_Fakers_seys and isn’t sorry about it.

Andrew Bynum is the worst. And not in a “You’re the worst, but we still love you because you’re so awful at everyLuck_The_Fakers_thing you do” kind of way, like BritLuck_The_Fakers_ta from “Community.” He’s just actuLuck_The_Fakers_alLuck_The_Fakers_ly the worst.

And why, you may ask is arguably the most talLuck_The_Fakers_entLuck_The_Fakers_ed true cenLuck_The_Fakers_ter in the league the worst? Well, to put it simLuck_The_Fakers_ply, Andrew Bynum is the worst because of his totalLuck_The_Fakers_ly shitLuck_The_Fakers_ty attiLuck_The_Fakers_tude and penLuck_The_Fakers_chant for makLuck_The_Fakers_ing the worst posLuck_The_Fakers_siLuck_The_Fakers_ble deciLuck_The_Fakers_sion at all times.Luck_The_Fakers_ HonLuck_The_Fakers_estLuck_The_Fakers_ly, the only dude in the league I can think of with worse body lanLuck_The_Fakers_guage than Andrew is Daniel Orton of the Magic, but that just may be his face, I dunno.

For the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers (specifLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fakers_calLuck_Th e_Fakers_ly their King Douche, he of the rats-nest-under-a-baseball cap, Jim Buss) Andrew Bynum has repLuck_The_Fakers_reLuck_The_Fakers_sentLuck_The_ Fakers_ed the heir apparLuck_The_Fakers_ent to the halLuck_The_Fakers_lowed throne of Laker big men, occuLuck_The_Fakers_pied honLuck_The_Fakers_orLuck_The_Fakers_ably and valiantLuck_The_Fakers_ly by George Mikan, Wilt ChamLuck_The_Fakers_berLuck_The_Fakers_lain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Shaquille O’Neal before him. Thing is, while those before him were mysLuck_The_Fakers_teLuck_The_Fakers_riLuck_The_Fa kers_ous (Mikan), greLuck_The_Fakers_garLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fa kers_ous (O’Neal and ChamLuck_The_Fakers_berLuck_The_Fakers_lain) and aloof (Abdul-Jabbar), Bynum in his time has proven to be nothLuck_The_Fakers_ing but a petuLuck_The_Fakers_lant child.

In 2005, Andrew Bynum became the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers second-ever lotLuck_The_Fakers_tery pick (Eddie Jones was selectLuck_The_Fakers_ed 10th in 1994) as they selectLuck_The_Fakers_ed him 10th overLuck_The_Fakers_all out of St. Joseph’s High School in subLuck_The_Fakers_urLuck_The_Fakers_ban New JerLuck_The_Fakers_sey. Bynum was taken ahead of a more proven talLuck_The_Fakers_ent, Danny Granger, simLuck_The_Fakers_ply for his potenLuck_The_Fakers_tial and team’s hisLuck_The_Fakers_toLuck_The_Fakers_ry with world-class talLuck_The_Fakers_ent in the midLuck_The_Fakers_dle. The LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers have always been obsessed with size, and Bynum’s masLuck_The_Fakers_sive — he was pretLuck_The_Fakers_ty fat in high school — frame seemed to fill the hole.

HowLuck_The_Fakers_evLuck_The_Fakers_er, the chalLuck_The_Fakers_lenge with Bynum was that he was young, just 17 years 0ld (and inciLuck_The_Fakers_denLuck_The_Fakers_talLuck_The _Fakers_ly still the youngest perLuck_The_Fakers_son to ever play in an NBA game) and almost all the legLuck_The_Fakers_endary Laker cenLuck_The_Fakers_ters had come to the team via trade after havLuck_The_Fakers_ing estabLuck_The_Fakers_lished themLuck_The_Fakers_selves elseLuck_The_Fakers_where. The LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers would have to develLuck_The_Fakers_op Andrew Bynum not only as a true NBA cenLuck_The_Fakers_ter worLuck_The_Fakers_thy of the manLuck_The_Fakers_tle, but also as a perLuck_The_Fakers_son, a fully funcLuck_The_Fakers_tionLuck_The_Fakers_al human being. While they have sucLuck_The_Fakers_ceedLuck_The_Fakers_ed at the forLuck_The_Fakers_mer, the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers have failed misLuck_The_Fakers_erLuck_The_Fakers_ably at the latLuck_The_Fakers_ter.

But this piece isn’t about what Andrew Bynum is good at. We all know that he has perLuck_The_Fakers_haps the best footLuck_The_Fakers_work of anyLuck_The_Fakers_one over 6-foot-10 in the league. We all know he is deadLuck_The_Fakers_ly in the post. We all know that Andrew Bynum is a very good basLuck_The_Fakers_ketLuck_The_Fakers_ball playLuck_The_Fakers_er and vital to the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers’ sucLuck_The_Fakers_cess. We can all agree on that. What is curLuck_The_Fakers_rentLuck_The_Fakers_ly up for disLuck_The_Fakers_cusLuck_The_Fakers_sion is that Andrew Bynum has a big-time attiLuck_The_Fakers_tude probLuck_The_Fakers_lem, one that has alienLuck_The_Fakers_atLuck_The_Fakers_ed this writer, a born and raised Laker fan, to the point of conLuck_The_Fakers_tempt for the team he was taught to love.

Early in his career, it seemed like Andrew Bynum could do no wrong. He talked about not falling into the trap so many preps-to-pros had. He lived with his mom in a non-descript neighLuck_The_Fakers_borLuck_The_Fakers_hood in Los AngeLuck_The_Fakers_les. He dunked over Shaq as a rookLuck_The_Fakers_ie and jumped and celLuck_The_Fakers_eLuck_The_Fakers_bratLuck_The_F akers_ed like just a norLuck_The_Fakers_mal 18-year-old kid would. It was realLuck_The_Fakers_ly cute. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was coachLuck_The_Fakers_ing him perLuck_The_Fakers_sonLuck_The_Fakers_alLuck_The_F akers_ly. He loved cars and comLuck_The_Fakers_putLuck_The_Fakers_ers. He was kind of a dork.

As time went on and his value to the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers was valLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fakers_datLuck_The_Fa kers_ed, he became someLuck_The_Fakers_thing else. He became this picLuck_The_Fakers_ture of entiLuck_The_Fakers_tleLuck_The_Fakers_ment, this 20-someLuck_The_Fakers_thing jerk that says whatLuck_The_Fakers_evLuck_The_Fakers_er and does whatLuck_The_Fakers_evLuck_The_Fakers_er they want with litLuck_The_Fakers_tle to no regard for how it affects those around them. He was phoLuck_The_Fakers_tographed parkLuck_The_Fakers_ing horLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fakers_zonLuck_The_Fa kers_talLuck_The_Fakers_ly across mulLuck_The_Fakers_tiLuck_The_Fakers_ple handLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fakers_capped parkLuck_The_Fakers_ing spaces. He was phoLuck_The_Fakers_tographed with a PlayLuck_The_Fakers_boy Bunny on his shoulLuck_The_Fakers_ders while rehabLuck_The_Fakers_bing yet anothLuck_The_Fakers_er knee injury. Andrew Bynum was estabLuck_The_Fakers_lishLuck_The_Fakers_ing himLuck_The_Fakers_self as an assLuck_The_Fakers_hole.

In 2010, he did a lot to help his image by playLuck_The_Fakers_ing through a torn menisLuck_The_Fakers_cus and calf musLuck_The_Fakers_cle en route to the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers’ secLuck_The_Fakers_ond chamLuck_The_Fakers_piLuck_The_Fakers_onship in as many years. But as the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers meltLuck_The_Fakers_ed down in the secLuck_The_Fakers_ond round of last year’s playLuck_The_Fakers_offs, being swept by the evenLuck_The_Fakers_tuLuck_The_Fakers_al chamLuck_The_Fakers_piLuck_The_Fakers_on DalLuck_The_Fakers_las MavLuck_The_Fakers_erLuck_The_Fakers_icks, Bynum acted as the perLuck_The_Fakers_sonLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fa kers_fiLuck_The_Fakers_caLuck_The_Fakers_tion of said meltLuck_The_Fakers_down by body-slamming MavLuck_The_Fakers_erLuck_The_Fakers_ick guard/Ewok J.J. Barea, earnLuck_The_Fakers_ing him an ejecLuck_The_Fakers_tion and a 5-game susLuck_The_Fakers_penLuck_The_Fakers_sion to begin the 2012 NBA seaLuck_The_Fakers_son. To Bynum, his despiLuck_The_Fakers_caLuck_The_Fakers_ble actions were met with his usual nonLuck_The_Fakers_plussed hands to the sky folLuck_The_Fakers_lowed by removal of his jerLuck_The_Fakers_sey as he was escortLuck_The_Fakers_ed off the court.

This year has been someLuck_The_Fakers_thing entireLuck_The_Fakers_ly new for Andrew Bynum. In the past, we could expect him to do someLuck_The_Fakers_thing stuLuck_The_Fakers_pid, yes, but it was never calLuck_The_Fakers_cuLuck_The_Fakers_latLuck_The_F akers_ed. It was usuLuck_The_Fakers_alLuck_The_Fakers_ly some kind of folly of youth or transLuck_The_Fakers_gresLuck_The_Fakers_sion easLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fakers_ly assigned to inexLuck_The_Fakers_peLuck_The_Fakers_riLuck_The_F akers_ence or boneLuck_The_Fakers_headLuck_The_Fakers_edLuck_The _Fakers_ness. In 2012, Andrew Bynum got mean. He became a dick.

He openLuck_The_Fakers_ly critLuck_The_Fakers_iLuck_The_Fakers_cized Mike Brown at nearLuck_The_Fakers_ly every opporLuck_The_Fakers_tuLuck_The_Fakers_niLuck_The_ Fakers_ty. He took inapLuck_The_Fakers_proLuck_The_Fakers_priLuck_The _Fakers_ate 3-pointLuck_The_Fakers_ers durLuck_The_Fakers_ing meanLuck_The_Fakers_ingLuck_The_Fakers_ful posLuck_The_Fakers_sesLuck_The_Fakers_sions (not to say that it was any worse than the inapLuck_The_Fakers_proLuck_The_Fakers_priLuck_The _Fakers_ate 15-footLuck_The_Fakers_ers he’d been takLuck_The_Fakers_ing for years, but this just LOOKED worse), leadLuck_The_Fakers_ing Brown to bench Bynum durLuck_The_Fakers_ing the fourth quarLuck_The_Fakers_ter in a March game against GoldLuck_The_Fakers_en State. After being quesLuck_The_Fakers_tioned about the inciLuck_The_Fakers_dent, Bynum respondLuck_The_Fakers_ed by sayLuck_The_Fakers_ing “I don’t know what was bench-worthy about the shot, to be honLuck_The_Fakers_est with you. I made one last [game] and wantLuck_The_Fakers_ed to make anothLuck_The_Fakers_er one.” This guy.

FolLuck_The_Fakers_lowLuck_The_Fakers_ing Three-Pointergate came HudLuck_The_Fakers_dleLuck_The_Fakers_gate, an inciLuck_The_Fakers_dent conLuck_The_Fakers_cernLuck_The_Fakers_ing Bynum’s admisLuck_The_Fakers_sion that he doesn’t take place in Mike Brown’s hudLuck_The_Fakers_dles due to the fact that he is “getLuck_The_Fakers_ting my Zen on.” It was after this that, for the first time in his 8-year career, the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers fined him for “numerLuck_The_Fakers_ous infractions.” Andrew Bynum was out of conLuck_The_Fakers_trol, and the Laker orgaLuck_The_Fakers_niLuck_The_Fakers_zaLuck_The_F akers_tion havLuck_The_Fakers_ing codLuck_The_Fakers_dled and proLuck_The_Fakers_tectLuck_The_Fakers_ed him since he was 17 had no recourse.

With Andrew Bynum, it will only get worse for the LakLuck_The_Fakers_ers. This is only the start. The shitLuck_The_Fakers_ty attiLuck_The_Fakers_tude, the lack of husLuck_The_Fakers_tle on defense, the stray grey hairs, the insultLuck_The_Fakers_ing quotes before playLuck_The_Fakers_off games (see: prior to Game 5, when he said “close-out games are actuLuck_The_Fakers_alLuck_The_Fakers_ly kind of easy.” And that “teams tend to fold if you come out and play hard in the beginning.” Non coinLuck_The_Fakers_ciLuck_The_Fakers_denLuck_The_ Fakers_talLuck_The_Fakers_ly, DenLuck_The_Fakers_ver won and JaVale McGee punked Bynum, going for 21 and 14.) You can’t allow bad behavLuck_The_Fakers_ior for eight years, and then all of the sudLuck_The_Fakers_den when the monLuck_The_Fakers_ster you’ve creLuck_The_Fakers_atLuck_The_Fakers_ed turns on you, expect a slap on the wrist will cure all the ills.

As far as Andrew Bynum is conLuck_The_Fakers_cerned, his attiLuck_The_Fakers_tude seems to be “Deal with it.” But as fans of a league filled with the most likLuck_The_Fakers_able talLuck_The_Fakers_ent it’s ever had, should we have to deal with it? No. That’s why Andrew Bynum is the worst.
