The Grizzlies just had to blow that 21 point lead in Game 1. This would have been the clinching game for them already. :pctoss

I wish the Grizzlies had stayed in Vancouver.

Spurtacus
05-11-2012, 10:38 PM
Me neither. I'm just pissed that neither team wants to put each other away. Instead, we get this long, outstretched series.

Many expected this to be a long and competitive series.

Manu-20
05-11-2012, 10:38 PM
Clipps half court offense is such trash, they could of won this game had they not blown the lead. I really wish they could of closed this out tonight on their home court just so the spurs could get started with their series. Heres hoping to the clippers making a miracle comeback because of as of now I cant see the clips winning

Paul: Choking or hurt?

Are you really asking that? Paul doesn't have a choking bone in his body. He's definitely hurt (groin I think).

Memphis is the worse matchup for the Spurs but I have faith in our boys. The Spurs really showed me something the 2nd time they played the Lakers after Bynum embarrassed them. Timmy was mad and the Spurs took them out twice. I think the Spurs want a piece of the Grizz. While they do look good for them to be in such a tight game, with as sorry as the Clips have played gives me even more confidence.

Are you talking about that knee that grabbed 16 rebounds tonight?

That's what happens when he goes against a guy with an even more F'ed up knee. CP3 and Griffin combined were about 75%.

Coming into this game, Randolph was averaging 8.2 rebounds per game. Forgive me if I'm not petrified, tbh.

Some of these posts are implying that the only reason why we would beat the Grizzlies this time around is because ZBO isn't 100% and because they lost some of the guys that killed us last year. BULLSHIT. We'd beat them regardless because we have a much better team this year than last year. Don't make excuses for the opposition!

Clippers are going to get annihilated in Game 7. CP3 sucks in elimination games as is (:lol @ the memory of him deferring to Jannero Pargo in Game 7 of '08) plus he's hurt. 'Tis going to get ugly.

One good thing about a Game 7 is the Spurs don't have to play at noon. Rust + Noon Start = Really slow start

well watching this years memphis theyre a lot more perimeter oriented and randolph still gets a lot of lucky bounces falling his way
im hoping diaw is fat enough to match randolphs fatness
or pop goes with splitter/duncan
it worked last game and if duncans shot is falling they have room to operate
memphis also gives up lots of perimeter shots but they play the pick and roll ballhandler a lot better then utah and probably most teams in the nba

Del Negro turns in a spectacularly bad coaching job. Clips clearly disgusted with him.

Really hope Paul just decides to win game 7 so Spurs can decimate them. But that's probably a dream. Spurs vs. the Lionel train and an amped up Grizz on Tuesday.

Winner of Game 1 probably takes the series.

therealtruth
05-12-2012, 02:54 AM
If the Grizzlies win game 7 they're definitely building some rhythm that will help them against the Spurs. I think game 7's basically falls into two categories. One is that the road team is happy and exhausted to get to that point and just get blown away. The other is two evenly matched teams battle to the last minutes of the game.

TacoCabanaFajitas

Clippers ball movement is so stagnant its almost hard to watch. The amount of their possesions that end up being 1 on 1 basketball has to be close to 30%

If the Clippers do prevail, they'll be exhausted. Not just by the seven-game series, but with the prospect of two big away games in three days. Would they even bother flying back to LA just for the one day? Either way, I just can't see them being mentally prepared after such a draining opening round. Thus I'm hopping the Clippers steal it.

05-12-2012, 11:27 AM
It'll be Memphis, and I welcome it. You can see in last night's game that CP3 is not all there. I think we match up fairly decently this year.

We need to run their bigs through the spin cycle with the pick and roll, to tire the hell out of them. But the big issue will be rebounding of course. If our wings continue to rebound like they did in Utah, though, it should help mitigate Zbos tenacity on that front.

Hope the Griz win so we get some payback for last year.
