The Nuggets series was a nice little tuneup/wake up call for the Lakers. It seems most people's hopes and expectations rest on the likes of Westbrook/Durant. Maybe this is the year they break through to the next level. And the same can be said for OKC bigs, they're going to have to break through into new territory.

Doubt it. The Lakers play smart, they win pretty easily. OKC is going to have to play out of their minds. Lakers have a big matchup and toughness/experience edge.

What has OKC shown you in the playoffs that would make me think any differently? How many banners do they have? Has Kobe not ever shut down Westbrook? Has MWP ever made Durant shoot 30 times for his 30 points? Has Bynum not had his way with Porkins? Can Hill not neutralize Collison?

So many questions. Thing is, the Lakers have answered them before. Why should I think any differently now?

Because the Thunder are simply a better team. Furthermore, if you want to revisit history, a much younger and worse Thunder team than the current one was a Gasol tip away from forcing a game 7 against a much, much better Lakers team than the one playing now.

Denver is basically Thunder-lite, but is nowhere near as good defensively and lack a superstar, and you escaped them in 7. And no, Artest wouldn't have changed much. He played 44 minutes tonight and this was a one possession game for much of the 4th quarter.

Your takes have been wrong all year. From declaring that Murphy and McRoberts will be a suitable replacement for Odom :lol. From thinking Ramon Sessions actually plays defense :lol. Not to mention a bunch of other stupid, homer inspired opinions I can't recall at the moment (I think you might've predicted the Jazz to upset the Spurs, or at least take 'em to 7).

You're a homer. You overrate everything when it comes to the Lakers.

The Jazz also held the second highest scoring team to 87 points in their final game. Once teams play a few games against each other, they start figuring out each other's tendencies, resulting in lower scoring as the series unfolds.

Scoring is what they do. Kind of like the Suns. In the end the cream rises to the top.

Versus OKC, we actually matchup well (defensively) against them. At any given time, we can...

Throw Kobe (or MWP) on WB
MWP on Durant
MWP on Harden
Pau on Ibaka
Bynum on Porkins
Hil on Collison

Will they get loose every now and then? Yes. But as I stated above, we match up with them defensively. That, and our rebounding will give us a great opportunity to beat these guys.

Lakers will push the Thunder to six or 7 and can win.

It depends on who handles the rock for the Thunder in the fourth. If Harden runs the point, I like the Thunder. If Westbrook is running the point in the 4th of close games....I give the nod to the Lakers.

I would love to be wrong though and see the Thunder win in 5.

I get the rest thing to a point, but I think that the Lakers keeping a regular season pace will do well for them. I don't like the B2B, but it's at LA so it's not a big deal.

I think all that time off for the Thunder might be more of a detriment than playing on one day's rest will be for the Lakers. You could see Artest winded in the 1st half, and that's how the entire Thunder team will be at the start.

No problem with you saying the Lakers win the series.

But to say the matchups are in their favor is just not an accurate statement. OKC is the worst matchup left for the Lakers, including MIA tbh.

Everything the Nuggets had success with against LA, OKC can pretty much match or improve upon. And every weakness the Nuggets had, the Thunder are better at.

If the Lakers win the series, it'll be because of a injury or their role players playing out of their fucking minds.

The cards are definitely stacked in OKC's favor no matter how you slice it but as you pointed out, that's why they play the games.

Smh..I guess you haven't figured out..what happens one year doesn't always translate to the next...a team can take you to the brink one year and then get swept the next..ala Dallas Mavericks...should be assume by your logic that the Spurs will lose to the Grizzs since you lost to them just last year...

even though I think they will lose to the Grizz the point is things don't always translate...it's all about match-ups...I'm sure we we're looking past Denver a bit and I'm also sure some players who played bad in round one doesn't mean that will carry over to round 2....each series is it's own world.

I rather have Lakers win the series, so we can take them out in the WCF. Either way its gonna be a hell of a series to watch, its going 6-7 games IMO.

The Lakers got this shit. OKC is a fucking fluke.

:lol gnlfs

I want to say OKC in 5 but I'm wondering if the rest might cost them game 1...so I'll say 6.

If Fish hits a game winner over The Savior or Mongoloid Steve, what type of gun will LakerFan use to blow their brains out?

Lakers get swept or Thunders in 5.

Only idiots and outsiders think the Lakers will win the series.

The slim chances Lakers had of winning were done in by:
1. Not closing out the Nuggs in timely fashion
2. Mavs not putting up ANY fight vs. OKC in round 1
3. That 3/4 back2back is brutal putting tremendous pressure on Lakers to win both
4. They gave Perkins chance to heal
5. Fisher is going to provide a dagger in at least one game, my guess it will be in game 4

None of these are excuses. LAkers shit their own bed. Now they have to lie in it. I didnt think they could win BEFORE ALL this. Initially I thought OKC in 6 or 7 now I think Thunder in 5 or 6

Lakers will roll over Thunder taking at least one game in first two then winning in no more than 6, but lose to the Spurs in a great series.

I would be able to accept that, but doubt it.

I will say this Bosh injury (if serious) really makes Heat vulnerable. Sure he is soft but he still was getting 16 and 8 ... Now they have Turiaf, Haslem and Battier having to play bigger roles than they should be. IF Pacers werent so young and dumb, and the refs not bail out Dwade everytime he flails on a turn-around jumper, Pacers would have a legit shot at an upset.

Bulls fans have to be cursing their bad luck.
Mavs fans have to curse Cuban ... two of the biggest obstacles to a repeat have had untimely injuries.

OKC in 3! One of the beatdowns will be so severe that they will get double credit!

Laker fan complaint about a star getting bailed out by refs...if that don't beat it all.

Thunder, with 100% healthy Perkins, in 5.

Thunder, with injured Perkins, in 7.

I'm going to have to say Thunder in 5 with or without Perkins. Lakers looked like a box of tosb last night.
