View Full Version : The Lakers WILL be in the Finals, and lose to the Heat

As much as it pains me to say it, the Lakers will be given the series vs. the Thunder and the Spurs, only to be robbed themselves vs. the Heat. As in Wrestling, the NBA needs LeBron to beat the current "legend" and one of the top 5 players since Jordan's retirement (Kobe) in order to start being the new face of the NBA.
Lakers will take care of the Thunder in 6, with Kobe shooting an alarming # of freethrows for being a jumpshooter, and the Thunder will shoot 30+ less freethrows than the Lakers throughout the series. Same with the Spurs, tbh, Bynum will be allowed his traditional 5 secs in the post, Kobe will try his hardest to chuck them out of it, but Bynum/Gasol won't allow it.
When they face the Heat, the Lakers will not receive the home-cooking they're used to...
Think of it as a Jordan(0 rings, superstar who "can't win") vs. Magic(5 rings, legend past his prime)...history repeats itself, and the Heat will walk away with a ring at the expense of the Lakers, tbh...but hey Laker fans, at least you'll be there (with help from the refs, tbh, but a finals appearance is a finals appearance, right?)
Feel free to bump this in a month or so.

Sorry not even the refs cannot get lakers to the finals. Kobe is declining fast and needs 20 shots for 25 points which won't get it done . Their front line gasol and Bynum don't put their full effort on a consistent basis, it takes away their biggest advantage , size. Other then their starting lineup, they have no depth that will show up on a consistent basis. Their Contending days are over until they get a rape deal , maybe Blake and attest for kelp or somewhere around those lines ? Even then it would be tough for them to win, but we will see.

Think of a 2012 Lakers/Heat finals as Bob Cousy vs. Steve Nash... history repeats itself in the sense of it not happening.

If Kobe makes it to the finals he would have already won in a sense...OKC is better than Miami this will be his real test....and if he makes it to the finals I expect to see a Kobe playing like he's facing 20 to life in Colorado all over again...if he's that close to 6 he's spearing MJ's dick in the dirt I don't care who's in his way :lol

Lakers chances of advancing the WCF are slim. I like them and would much prefer seeing them in the Finals than OKC or the Spurs but OKC is like the Nuggets with two 2 Top 10 players in their roster.
The Lakers hopes hinges on 3 factors.
Gasol/Bynum shows up every night (unlikely)
Lakers perimeter players consistently hits their 3 pointers (unlikely)
Westbrook hits a wall in this series (plausible but unlikely)
This will be a quick 5 game series. Lakers should be extremely proud of themselves if they can stretch it to 7 games.
I've predicted the same Finals, however the NBA needs no such thing. Bryant didn't beat Jordan in the Finals, so how can you say the torch has to be passed? It doesn't. Stars rise and fall, they don't have to meet on the battlefield to crown the next MJ. There won't be another MJ. There will only be those who are compared to him. When we stop comparing these guys to MJ, we will be much less disappointed.

Won't be another Kobe either...but with the advancement of Gay rights there will be plenty of Duncan's..:lol
lakers will be a huge matchup problem for them heat tbh, niggas are too BIG and the heat have NO solution to neither Pau or bynum. the worst matchup for them heat i can imagine tbh

The Lakers will own the frontcourt with the Thunder. World Peace gives Durant problems. I expect the Lakers to beat the Thunder.

Idk about that, but I see it going 7.
lakers would be the toughest possible matchup for them heat imho, their length would make them struggle alot despite the heat are perhaps more talented overall. to beat them lakers you need a gang of 3pt shooters (like the ones we had last year :cry) which the heat don't have. we literally shot them lakers to death last year tbh but it seems no team is capable of replicating it this year, i think there's a reason why the lakers could win back-to-back championships, which no other team had managed to do since Jordan & the bulls

A committed, inspired Lakers team could beat the Heat. Umfortunately they are neither committed nor inspired, and they can't beat the Thunder.
:lol fortunate to beat the Nuggets

The Lakers missed the boat with the last game, 0:2 looks bad. If they split games in LA its over. The Heat neither look well vs Indiana, and if they advance to the ECF, they don't have a chance vs the Celtics, specially considering how well KG and Pierce play.
It will be Spurs or OKC vs the C's.

No offense, but Indiana is up 18 in the 4th and could go up 2-1 against the front running Heat...
Plenty of time left but definitely a premature ejaculation thread considering the Lakers may get swept...
That is all, back to watching the game...

In order for this supposed Lakers-Heat Finals matchup to take place, the Heat would have to go 3-1 over their next few games against the Pacers, AND the Lakers would have to go 4-1 over their next few games against the Thunder.
I don't see that happening.

The Lakers won't go to the Finals.
The Heat, it depends if they get Boston. Without him, they're about even vs Indiana (slightly underdogs after this game), but Boston should beat them. With Bosh, they can make it.
