I agree...allowing for players to play physically to position ones self is entirely different than allowing all out brawls every offensive possession which is what parts of this game has looked like.

A hand-check is one thing. Using one hand like a football stiff-arm is another. You're allowed to stay in contact with the ball handler, but not shove him farther and farther away from the paint. And you are no longer allowed to use the two-handed check. Putting both hands on the ball handler is supposed to be an automatic whistle - or at least that's what they said when they put the rule in place.

When you see a game like this, and none of the refs are making the calls, you have to think that there was a conscious decision not to blow the whistles.

I am in the minority, but I like the grizzles. Its ugly basketball but I respect their game, their physicality, their ruggedness. Tony Allen, Conley, Gasol, Eddie Winslow, Milk Mustard, I respect all those guys.
I think with a healthy Manu, we still lose to them last year. They destroyed us, and earned my respect. Its probably one of the only teams to crush the spurs in the playoffs that I don't hate.

Interestingly, it's hard to find 3 more home-friendly officials over the last 6 or so years than Joe Crawford, Bill Kennedy, and Monty McCutchen.
