While my jumping on the Hotspur bandwagon is fairly bandwagon fanish I have never had an EPL team. I did try to root for Man City last year and just never really felt it. Rooting for Tottenham might honestly be the same but I kinda doubt it because now I got the Arsenal fucks talking shit so that makes it 2039083094830438 times more fun.

My Galaxy fandom was tied to my Landon manlove but the only thing that could change that now is the scorpions getting into the MLS. I would just love to cheer for a San Antonio team in the MLS for some reason.

However, my Madrid fandom is not bandwagon in the least. That was the first soccer club I ever rooted for.

I won't say any of the clubs I root for trump my rooting for the USMNT, though. But I guess thats different all together.

PSG to target Ronaldo and Jose - report

October 31, 2012

Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Paris Saint-Germain could target Real Madrid pair Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho.

http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2012/0502/ronaldoandmourinhoceleb20120502_275x155.jpgGettyIm agesCristiano Ronaldo claimed his first La Liga title since joining Real Madrid in 2009

The report claims that affluent side PSG could bid in the region of €100 million for Ronaldo, after being alerted by the Portuguese's recent "sadness" at Madrid.
La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Ronaldo, who signed for Real from Manchester United for £80 million in 2009, would be offered a salary of €18 million a year.
It is alleged that the Liga champions could reinvest the money in Atletico Madrid forward Falcao, who has been regularly linked with a switch to the Bernabeu.
PSG's Qatari owners spent lavishly in the summer, bringing the likes of AC Milan duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to the club for around €62 million.
Carlo Ancelotti, the side's current boss, has led PSG to the top of the Ligue 1 table after winning six of their opening ten games of the season

No, you're not automatically a bandwagoner if you're not in the city the team is from.

You are a bandwagoner if all the teams happen to be among the richest and winningest in their league's history.

Manchester United could move in for Mats Hummels this fall after all. Apparently, the Borussia Dortmund center is now keen on moving to Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

Reports from Spain and Germany claim Manchester United are closing in on Mats Hummels after the young Germany international expressed desired to make a switch.

The 23-year-old defender has been strongly linked to Manchester United for over a year now, but Borussia Dortmund’s refusal to release him and Mats Hummels loyalty to the German side has kept him in Germany.

However, now Manchester United can finally push for Mats Hummels. In spite of having back-up players, Manchester Untied have been very fragile defensively. A severe injury crisis and lack of form has plagued Manchester United’s defense this season.

Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Nemanja Vidic have been absent from Manchester United’s squad for the better half of the season. Phil Jones and Chris Smalling only recently recovered from their injuries and started in the first team.

Knee surgery and back injuries have kept Phil Jones off the ground since April. Chris Smalling has been dealing with a nagging ankle injury for most of the season. Both players will take time before regaining their lost form.

Manchester United skipper and star defender Nemanja Vidic has suffered another setback in his recovery. The center back is expected to rest till January now.

The absence of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Nemanja Vidic forced Sir Alex Ferguson to feature Rio Rio Ferdinand and Jonny Evans in Manchester United’s first team. The duo has delivered a couple of outstanding performances this season, but they are finally beginning to feel the heat of continuous pressure.

Mats Hummels addition to the Manchester United squad will not only provide stability but depth as well. Sir Alex Ferguson has already declared that he is in the building process of a new team before his imminent departure from Manchester United. Given that Mats Hummels is one of the best young talents in the market, it would be a good idea to invest in him.

Manchester United has conceded 17 goals in 12 Premier League games, which is reason enough to rebuff the defensive department. Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp won’t let go Mats Hummels for a cheap price. Therefore, Sir Alex Ferguson must dig deep in order to accumulate funds to sign in Mats Hummels this fall.

That's not true, tbh. Messi barely speaks on the locker-room. Ibra left because of Guardiola.

And if there was a player that didn't want Ibra on the team was Xavi who told Pep: "this guy doesn't suit our style".

Of course I know all the stories but those are inventions from the Madrid media except for the "play all the games" thing (which actually is "not getting subbed", he likes to play the full 90 minutes) but even that isn't something he demands, it's just something his coaches concede him to keep him happy.

All the other things are bullshit rumors that are invented by journalists in Madrid and that are denied by journalists closer to the Barcelona locker-room and even the players. Villa and Messi actually get along very well, they may not be friends but they're closer than just regular teammates.

It's true that Messi prefered to play on the middle rather than on the wing but he never asked for anybody to leave. Ibrahimovic left 'cause he had an awful relationship with Pep Guardiola.

Manchester United are monitoring Wesley Sneijder's situation ahead of the January transfer window, ESPN has been told, as it emerged on Friday that Inter will consider selling the Dutch playmaker after contract negotiations stalled (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1239470/wesley-sneijder-absent-from-inter-first-team-due-to-contract-issue?cc=5739#).
http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2012/1130/wesleysneijdercelebrates_275x155.jpgPA PhotosSneijder has not played for Inter since September

• Preview: Reading v Man United (http://espnfc.com/uk/en/preview/345854/preview.html?soccernet=true&cc=5739)
• Blog: Five with a point to prove (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/blog/_/name/manchesterunited/id/608?cc=5739)

The Old Trafford club came extremely close to signing Sneijder in August 2011 only for the deal to fall down over financial demands. But with United's hand now strengthened due to the player's current difficulties, ESPN understands they are strongly considering another bid with Nani possibly going the other way.
United manager Alex Ferguson's relationship with the Portuguese winger has worsened significantly (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1215890/alex-ferguson-row-spells-end-for-nani-at-manchester-united?cc=5739) over the past year and the club even looked to try and sell him in the summer. Even if Sneijder does not arrive at Old Trafford, Nani - who is currently injured and could be out until the New Year (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1245696/manchester-united-without-wingers-for-reading-fixture?cc=5739) - may yet move to either Inter or Juventus.
Similarly, any prospective Sneijder deal is not dependent on the winger's situation. For one, Ferguson is known to believe it would be a mistake to miss out on a player of such quality - regardless of options - if he were to come available for relatively cheap. The United manager has repeatedly proven this in the past.
In addition, Ferguson has apparently accepted that his midfield needs bolstering and feels that Sneijder could play in a more withdrawn role that would enable United to better use possession and funnel attacks in a superior manner.
United have also been heavily scouting PSV Eindhoven's highly-rated Kevin Strootman and are one of a number of clubs watching Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha, although Arsenal are understood to be favourites if the young forward were to leave Selhurst Park.
In Italy, meanwhile, Sneijder looks set to be again left out of the team for Inter's match with Palermo this Sunday.
"Sneijder isn't playing because the coach doesn't think he's at his best, above all psychologically," club president Massimo Moratti said.
"For us it's natural to look for a way to not be forced to sell him and he has the right to not accept our offer. If it stays like, the solution will be on the transfer market."

http://metro.co.uk/2013/01/31/fenerbache-pull-plug-on-deal-to-re-sign-andre-santos-from-arsenal-3376149/

Fenerbache have pulled out of a proposed deal to re-sign full-back Andre Santos from Arsenal.

Metro understands that Turkish side Fener, who have made signing a new full-back their top priority, made contact with the Gunners over Santos on Wednesday morning.

However, before the transfer started to progress, Fenerbache pulled out of the deal and have instead turned their attentions to ex-Tottenham and Wigan star Reto Ziegler.

It is thought that Santos, who joined Arsenal from Fenerbache in 2011, had been keen to talk to his former club about a move, as he is finding first-team opportunities limited due to the form of Gunners team-mate Kieran Gibbs.

But with Gibbs facing three weeks on the sidelines, Santos is set for an extended run in the team during the next month or so.

The news is unlikely to be greeted well by Arsenal fans, who booed the Brazilian when he came on as a substitute against Liverpool last night.

However, he may be due another run in the team soon with the news that Gibbs is likely to be sidelined for three weeks through injury.

South American outfits Sao Paulo and Boca Juniors have previously been linked with Santos.

Juventus made a bid for Parma’s Ishak Belfodil as their January search for a new striker continues.

The Old Lady contacted the Gialloblu last night to enquire about the availability of the 21-year-old.

Parma’s €20m asking price was deemed as excessive by the Turin giants, who offered Fabio Quagliarella in exchange.

The Stadio Tardini outfit subsequently asked for Quagliarella and €13m.

The Turin giants are hoping for a straight swap deal which would see each player move on loan until the end of the season.

Belfodil, born in Algeria, has scored seven goals this term. Quagliarella has seven as well.

Report: Real Madrid Aims to Reunite Sergio Aguero With His Family

, Spanish Soccer by Marcus Kwesi O'Mard on Thu, Mar 21, 2013 at 3:35PM Comments () inShare

Real Madrid is ready to make Sergio Aguero and Manchester City offers that neither will be able to refuse. The Spanish giant wants to sign the City star this summer, and it will make a transfer bid of at least £45 million ($68.2 million) to pry him from City’s grasp. Aguero would then be willing to leave Manchester for Madrid in order to be closer to his family, according to the Star. “Aguero is becoming disillusioned with life in Manchester following the break-up of his marriage to Diego Maradona‘s daughter Giannina,” the report claims. “Giannina now spends most of her time in Madrid with the couple’s son Ben and Aguero has told close friends he is finding it ‘impossible’ to be apart from him.” Aguero is one of world soccer’s premier strikers, scoring prolifically for both City and Argentina. The 24-year-old joined City from Atletico Madrid in summer 2011 for a club-record £38 million ($57.6 million) and led it to the Premier League title in his first season in England. The 2012-13 campaign has been tougher on Aguero, as his form has suffered due to family issues and injuries. He could make a seamless return to La Liga (Spanish first division), having already played five seasons there. Real Madrid fans would likely welcome him, despite his previous service to crosstown rival Atletico Madrid. Real Madrid should be active in the summer transfer window. Manager Jose Mourinho, star forward Cristiano Ronaldo and a few others are expected to leave the club, which will spark a massive squad reconstruction project. Aguero is reportedly Madrid’s top transfer target, and his arrival would not only ease the blow of Ronaldo’s departure, but also help the re-election prospects of club president Florentino Perez. City will not relish the thought of losing its top striker, but the reported fee will help it buy Aguero’s replacement. Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani are among the top strikers City is expected to pursue this summer. Last year, Maradona said that Aguero had made a “mistake” in joining City. This summer the player known as “Kun” just might take his former father-in-law’s advice and correct that error. Real Madrid, City and Aguero could all benefit from the move, but the real winner would be young Ben, who would once again have his father close by.

Why not move Welbeck and Cheech? Both are clearly inferior to the other 3. I don't see how it couldn't work. RVP and Rooney can both play AMC, and either can play a striker as well, while Falcao is a classic #9.

This

They need a dominant midfielder more than anything else. The reason they lost to Real and have problems with teams like Citeh is because they can't control the middle of the field. Instead, they get pressed back into their own half and have to rely on their already potent counterattack to stay in games. This is a case where he would be throwing a ton of money at a problem which simply doesn't exist.

Imo, they need a Dembele'/Fellaini type guy to get to the next level where teams like Bayern/Barca/Real reside.

I hope BVB is selling Lewandovski now. He is great, but getting nothing for him in 2014 would hurt.
They have about 80Mio to spend right now, with selling Lewi they are at about 120Mio. Dortmund while not having the name of Real or Bayern, isn't the worst place to play in and Klopp is a coach, that a lot of good guys want to play for and know he will make them better. Give him these 120Mio to buy young talent, then give him 2 years and you have a money making mashine!

Lewandowski isn't worth 40 million dollars.

Fox should have looked at picking up the Bundesliga, since NBC is getting the Prem next year.
