Sochaux midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has revealed that Liverpool are amongst a number of high-profile clubs negotiating for his transfer.

Boudebouz, who was part of Algeria's 3-0 win over Niger on Saturday, has attracted attention from a number of French clubs following his performances on the wing in Ligue 1 and now the Premier League club has joined the queue.
Boudebouz, 22, said: "Certainly, my agent is in talks with some clubs, particularly in France, but there is still nothing concrete.
"There is also Liverpool, who have initiated discussions with my agent, but at the risk of repeating myself, everything is in the discussion stage, no more."

He is a RM, but he can play RW

TBH, I think he should play 1-2 seasons with a big French club (Lyon and Marseille are interested too) before making the jump to the EPL.
But that's just me.

He also needs to hit the weight room

Actually they already make an offer to Sochaux year, but Sochaux's boss wanted more $$$$

Also, Roberto Martinez was supervising him when he was at Wigan, and he might become Liverpool's next Manager

Chelsea’s rebuilding grows with £78m Eden Hazard signing (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9295242/Chelseas-rebuilding-grows-with-78m-Eden-Hazard-signing.html)

Eden Hazard announced on Monday night that he is joining Chelsea as Roman Abramovich took another decisive step in his rebuilding of the squad that won the Champions League.

Chelsea have beaten off competition from Manchester City — who had been clear favourites to sign the exciting Belgium international but grew frustrated at the negotiations — Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur after becoming the only club who would go close to meeting the forward’s demands.

City are thought to have walked away from the deal last week with Spurs giving up some time ago. Hazard, currently on international duty and preparing to face England in a friendly this weekend, indicated to Chelsea on Saturday that he was set to accept their offer and yesterday took to the social media site Twitter to announce that he had “made up my mind”, adding last night: “I’m signing for the Champions League winner.”

Chelsea will pay a fee of around €40 million (£35.3 million) to Lille, with Hazard having demanded wages of £4.6 million a year net of tax, so around £9  million a year for his new employer. That averages out at £170,000 a week.

In addition his agent, John Bico, who has conducted an aggressive auction has made it clear that he wants a fee of £6 million.

If all the demands are met and with Hazard expected to agree a five-year deal, it means the overall cost of the signing, fees and contract will amount to around £78 million which, even by Chelsea standards, is a substantial investment.

Chelsea hijacked City’s deal after receiving a call from Bico on the eve of the Champions League final with the agent telling them that he could persuade Hazard to join them if his demands were met.

The 21 year-old can provide some of the width and creativity that Chelsea have lacked although where he fits in remains to be seen as he has suggested he wants to play as a classic ‘No 10’ — as does Juan Mata.

The signing probably ends Chelsea’s interest in the Brazil international Lucas Moura, who had been a prime target for previous manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Chelsea are without a permanent manager with interim head coach Roberto Di Matteo on holiday and not dealing with transfer targets and negotiations.

Instead, technical director Michael Emenalo is working with Abramovich to conduct Chelsea’s transfer business, which has so far included signing the German international wide midfielder Marko Marin for £6.5 million from Werder Bremen and releasing Jose Bosingwa and Salomon Kalou, while Didier Drogba, also out of contract, is leaving having agreed a deal with the Chinese club Shanghai Shenzua.

It can be expected that the signing of Hazard will hasten the departure of Florent Malouda, who has a year left on his contract and is considering a number of offers, including a lucrative deal from a Turkish club. Paulo Ferreira has also been told he can leave with Chelsea aiming to sign a new right-back.

They have again been offered Ajax defender Gregory Van der Wiel, who was a target of former sporting director Frank Arnesen.

Hazard becomes the fourth Belgian in the Chelsea squad but, unlike the other three — Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and goalkeeper Thibault Courtois — he will not be loaned out next season.

Courtois spent a hugely successful season with Atletico Madrid and is set to go back to Spain for the next campaign. It was announced that first-choice Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, who recently turned 30, had won his battle for a new contract and had signed a four-year deal.

Hazard has enjoyed a hugely successful season in France, where he was named Ligue 1 player of the year for the second season running, scoring 17 goals in 37 league games.

City have spent 15 months wooing the player and he was their guest at the recent Manchester derby having also been shown houses in the area that afternoon. It had been claimed that Chelsea tried to sign Hazard in January but their interest is far more recent.

Abramovich has already told his aides that he intends to create a young, hungry new team for next season. Chelsea also have a deal in place to sign Hulk from Porto, but that was negotiated by Villas-Boas.

Hulk’s agent, Teodoro Fonseca, has insisted Chelsea remain interested.

Chelsea are also in the market for a top-class striker but matters are complicated by Fernando Torres’s continued presence at the club and the claims that he has been guaranteed by Abramovich that he will have more opportunities next season.

Reacting to today's developments, a Chelsea spokesman said on Monday night: "As with all transfers, when we have something to announce, we will announce it in the usual way."

What they are saying about Hazard

"Hazard is a very good player. He has many qualities. He is particularly rapid in the first 10 yards."
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson

"He can play in any top team in the world, today or tomorrow."
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany

"His creative ability, his talent for unbalancing opponents, his vision of the game, and his consummate skill in making the final pass all make him an in-demand player."
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger

"Eden is technically gifted and very fast. I would take him to Real Madrid with my eyes closed. He can become a great footballer, he is a star of the future".
Real Madrid director of football and former France international Zinedine Zidane

"Faster than Zidane, more technique than Thierry Henry."
Former France international Christophe Dugarry

"At times he looks like Lionel Messi."
Former Marseille manager Rolland Courbis

Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is expected to confirm he is joining Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua this week.

The Ivory Coast international, aged 34, has reportedly agreed a two-and-a-half year contract worth a staggering £25m.

Drogba will announce the deal on his personal website, according to the Chinese club's chief investor Zhu Jun.

United Arab Emirates club Al Wasl have also shown an interest in Drogba, who is a free agent.

But a move to China will will reunite him with another former Chelsea striker, Nicolas Anelka.

'The next step is interesting,' said Drogba during a promotional visit to India.

'I will announce it soon. But as of now, you will just have to wait.'

Ambitious Shenhua have spent lavishly on foreign talent, including coaches.

They sacked head coach Jean Tigana earlier this season and replaced him with former Argentina manager Sergio Batista last month.

They are currently 12th in the 16-club Super League.

http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2012/0427/albertoaquilanistands20120215_275x155.jpgGettyImag esAlberto Aquilani is set to return to Anfield

Aquilani, 27, spent last season on loan at AC Milan. He joined Liverpool from Roma in a £20 million deal in 2009, but failed to settle before being loaned to Juventus in the 2010-11 campaign.
Reports in Italy said Aquilani - under contract at Anfield until 2014 - would terminate his Liverpool deal in order to make a permanent switch to Milan in the summer.
But his agent Franco Zavaglia told Sportitalia: "Almost certainly, he will not terminate his contract with Liverpool.
"He could join them at the beginning of July to start pre-season training with the English club. At this time, there are no clubs interested in him."

Manchester City midfielder David Silva is reportedly a target for Real Madrid.

Silva was a key component of City’s title winning team last season and the Spanish Champions are believed to be ready to offer around £30m for the playmaker.

City manager Roberto Mancini is under no obligation to sell the 26-year-old, but the lure of the Bernabeu may prove too much for Silva to turn down.

However, his agent, Julio Llorente has moved to talk down any potential move back to his homeland.

'Real Madrid is a big club as well and they were interested when he was at Valencia (the club he left to join City) but the deal was not possible,’ said Llorente.

'We are ignoring the plans of Real Madrid because he is very integrated at City and winning the Premier League has only increased his commitment to the club.'

'David has signed a long deal with Manchester City and is very happy at the club.

'Football is always unpredictable but he wants to stay in England.’ He added.

Italian defender Alessandro Nesta has signed a two-year deal with the Montreal Impact, according to tvasports.ca.
The deal requires approval from the MLS but due to the July 4 American holiday, the league is unable to officially announce the acquisition.
Nesta spent the past 10 seasons with AC Milan of Italy's Serie A, one of the top soccer leagues in the world.
The move teams him up with a former teammate, recent Impact acquisition Marco Di Vaio. The two broke into professional football together with Italian club Lazio in 1993.
Nesta has appeared in 417 Serie A games with Lazio and Milan between 1993 and 2012. He has also made 78 appearances with Italy's national team. He was part of Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning squad, however an injury earlier in the tournament kept him out of the final game.

West Ham line up Carroll loan (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1123920/west-ham-line-up-loan-offer-for-andy-carroll?cc=4716)

West Ham United have confirmed to ESPN that they are interested in signing Liverpool striker Andy Carroll on a season-long loan.

Carroll, 23, signed for Liverpool from Newcastle for £35 million in 2011 but struggled after the move, scoring just six Premier League goals in 42 appearances. His form did, however, improve towards the end of last season and he was on target for England with a fine header against Sweden at Euro 2012.

Recent reports have suggested that the Reds are open to letting Carroll leave this summer, with new manager Brendan Rodgers coy over whether the forward's future lies at Anfield.

Serie A side AC Milan have been mooted as potential candidates for his signature, although an approach has yet to be confirmed.

The Hammers, though, are to lodge an offer of a season-long loan, and a source told ESPN: "West Ham are rating their chances of getting Carroll on loan as low as 10%, but you never know."

It is unclear whether Carroll is in Rodgers' plans, particularly after Liverpool were strongly linked with a move for Roma forward Fabio Borini.

According to The Manchester Evening News (http://menmedia.co.uk/manchestereveningnews/news/), Manchester United is moving closer to a deal with Arsenal (http://sports.yahoo.com/fbgb/teams/ars) striker Robin van Persie; however, nothing has been confirmed by United or Arsenal (http://sports.yahoo.com/fbgb/teams/ars). And in a display of perplexing randomness, Usain Bolt (http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/london-2012/track-field/usain-bolt-1020434/), the Jamaican track and field legend, said he would like to play for United.
When asked about Van Persie and Arsenal, Manchester United's manager Sir Alex Ferguson (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/players/202796) said, "We have made a bid and they've been trying to negotiate with other clubs. I don't have a gut feeling on it at the moment, I must admit. We're not getting any breakthrough with Arsenal."
If you don't have a "gut feeling" about the possible acquisition of Van Persie than why say anything at all? He lost the signing of Brazilian star Lucas Moura from Sao Paulo. Fergie has had a tough summer when it comes to the transfer market. Ferguson needs to talk about Van Persie to stay in good graces with the United fan base; and, oh yeah, isn't United's IPO about to be listed on the world's largest exchange?

Rooney tells Van Persie to join United, Arsenal lose Niang race

http://cdn.theweek.co.uk/sites/theweek/files/styles/theweek_article_main_image/public/robin_van_persie_2.jpg
Van Persie urged to quit Emirates, Niang snubs Premier League and Arsenal chase Korean

LAST UPDATED AT 07:42 ON Fri 10 Aug 2012
ENGLAND AND Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has made an impassioned plea to Robin van Persie to jump ship from the Emirates. United have spent the summer chasing the Arsenal striker and now Rooney has joined the hunt, telling the Dutchman he needs to relocate to Old Trafford.
"He'd be a great addition to the squad," replied Rooney (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4480279/Robin-van-Persie-urged-by-Wayne-Rooney-to-join-Man-Utd.html) when asked his thoughts on Van Persie, adding: "He's a player I admire. He has been amazing for Arsenal over many years." As for whether he reckoned he and Van Persie could form a lethal strikeforce, a smiling Rooney responded: "I'd like to think so - but you'd have to ask the manager."
Meanwhile, it's bad news for Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester City in the race to sign Caen teenager M'Baye Niang. According to the Metro (http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/908020-arsenal-spurs-and-man-city-set-to-lose-mbaye-niang-to-ac-milan#ixzz233nAGQYN), it's AC Milan who are on the brink of landing the gifted 17-year-old who is tipped to be the best thing to come out of France since Patrick Vieira.
Apparently it was Arsenal in pole position to sign Niang after Caen agreed he could leave following their relegation from the French first division in May.
The Gunners even took the France Under-21 striker on trial, and all went well, but not for the first time at the Emirates it was the fee that saw the deal collapse.
The Metro claims that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger offered £5m only to be told by Caen that they expected £2m more. "Talks finally broke down for good last week," says the Metro and while City and Spurs have made enquiries, Milan have wasted no time in agreeing a deal for Niang.
They'll take him on loan this season in a £400,000 deal and then, if things go according to plan, pay Caen an additional £6m next June. Much to Arsenal's displeasure, Niang has already been to Milan to discuss personal terms and the transfer is set to go through at the weekend.
The Gunners may also have a fight on their hands if they want to sign Celtic's South Korean star Ki Sung-Yeung. Earlier this week it was reported that Arsenal's scouts had given him a glowing report and that Arsene Wenger was about to make an offer. But now the Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2186429/Arsenal-target-Ki-Sung-Yeung-wanted-Atletico-Madrid.html) reports that Atletico Madrid are also keen on the 'Korean Gerrard'.
One Korean who definitely won't be wearing Arsenal colours in the Premier League next season is Park Chu-Young. The striker who was hailed as a "valuavble addition" to the Gunners ranks last summer has proved to be a complete flop, he couldn't even get above Marouane chamakh in the pecking order, and now Metro (http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/908118-arsenal-tell-flop-striker-park-chu-young-he-must-find-new-club) reports that Wenger has told the player's representatives he will not feature for the club next season, and should seek a transfer away.
Meanwhile AC Milan's neighbours, Inter, are being linked with Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong. T (http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/120809/inter-interested-man-city-midfielder-178292)alksport (http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/120809/inter-interested-man-city-midfielder-178292) reports that the 27-year-old Dutch international is angling for a move out of the Etihad after becoming a bit-part player in the past season.
Talksport claims that De Jong's agent, Rodger Linse, sat down with Inter officials in Milan on Thursday to thrash out a deal. Apparently Inter don't believe De Jong is worth the £2.4m a season he's allegedly demanding and compromise is believed to be in the air. Manchester City boss Roberto Manicini is happy to let De Jong go provided Inter stump up £7m.
Still with Inter and Italian website Calciomercatonews.com (http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/120809/inter-milan-step-interest-liverpool-target-178286#gMQxJ5DOW3QJlakO.99) reports that the Serie A club have their eye on Gaston Ramirez. The news won't go down well at Anfield where Liverpool have had their eye on the Uruguayan playmaker ever since Brendan Rodgers became boss.
Inter had wanted to bring Brazilian Lucas Moura to the San Siro but they lost out to Paris Saint-Germain. Now apparently they have turned their attention to the 21-year-old Ramirez and are willing to pay Bologna their asking price of £16m
Finally, the Mirror (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-transfers-luka-modric-is-being-1242634) reports that Luka Modric has been "left in limbo by suitors Real Madrid". The Spurs midfielder has been hoping for a move to the Bernabeu for weeks and it seemed certain earlier in the summer. But according to the Mirror, Real president Florentino Perez is about to abort the transfer mission as Spurs refuse to lower their price tag of £40.
Real have tabled a £30m bid but apparently refuse to go higher for the Croatian playmaker. ·

I don't get what they need Song for. They already have Mascherano and Busquets at DM. Their priority right now is a CB more than anything. Maybe it's just another move to get players from the Arsenal pipeline for payment. Let's face it, Arsene makes the La Masia his pipeline of youngsters.

http://www.soccernews.com/agent-claims-llorente-set-for-premier-league-move/100909/

The agent of Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente Carlos Arino Bajo has revealed that his client is likely to join a Premier League club this summer.

The highly rated forward broke off contract renewal talks earlier this month and informed the clubs chiefs that he would like to leave San Mames this summer.

He has since been linked with just about every top club in Europe, including several Premier League giants.

The player’s representative has now moved to confirm reports that Llorente is nearing a switch to English Premier League (http://www.soccernews.com/category/english-premier-league/).

“Tomorrow Llorente will speak about his destination,” agent Carlos Arino Bajo said to Daily Telegraph.”It is very, very possible that he will decide to go to the Premier League.

”I don’t know the club at the moment but there are two clubs. One is in London and one is in Manchester.”

Fernando Llorente has less than a year left on his deal at San Mames, but Athletic chiefs are adamant that the player can only leave if a club match his €36 million release clause.

The 27-year-old has spent his entire club with los Leones, and has scored 80 goals in 237 La Liga (http://www.soccernews.com/category/la-liga/) games.

AVB: Modric issue no distraction (http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/165496.html)

Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric is expected to complete his protracted move to Real Madrid within the next few days.
Modric has been keen to push through a switch to the Spanish champions for much of the summer, having initially refused to return to pre-season training with the north London club.
But Real have so far been reluctant to meet Spurs' asking price for the creative midfielder, with the two clubs haggling over the details of the transfer as the Croatian waits for news.
However, it appears manager Jose Mourinho is finally set to sign the 26-year-old - with Zoran Mamic, sporting director at Modric's former club Dinamo Zagreb, revealing that he expects the deal to be concluded shortly.
Dinamo have shown a keen interest in the impending transfer, as they stand to receive a significant windfall from the sale of Modric - having inserted a sell-on clause in the agreement that saw Spurs sign Modric from the club for around £16 million in 2008.
Mamic should also be privy to private details of negotiations - his nephew, Mario Mamic, is one of Modric's representatives.
"You read many things in the media but from the information that I have, Luka will move to Real Madrid for sure," Zoran Mamic told Croatian media outlet 24sata. "I've heard it's almost done, so I don't have any doubts Luka will play for Real Madrid next season.
"It is just a question of when the official announcement will be."
Chelsea have re-entered the race to sign Modric in recent weeks, but Modric has reportedly made it clear to Spurs that he is only interested in a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

And so, with great sadness, it appears to be time to say farewell to one of this summer’s old friends: the Luka Modric transfer saga. After weeks of “is he going to Real Madrid or isn’t he” speculation, it appears that, finally, he is.

The Croatia international playmaker’s move to the Bernabeu is set to be completed in the next 48 hours (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1141051/luka-modric-to-real-madrid-conclusion-imminent?cc=5739) after Spurs chairman Daniel Levy ratified the deal.

Modric is preparing to fly to the Spanish capital to complete his medical and finalise a move that was mistakenly flagged up on the official Real Madrid website in an embarassing error earlier this week. Bernabeu officials quickly removed the post, which suggested Modric was already part of their first-team squad - but they should be able to re-publish the article in the next couple of days.

I'm a little curious about the Javi Martinez to Bayern Munich thing.

The Bundesliga may very well be the strongest soccer league, when the "financial fairplay" breaks through and Munich is the smartest and headiest club out there.

BUT 40Mio (most expensive signing in Bundesliga history) for a guy that is serviceable but not much more isn't the type of move you'd expect from Munich. He will be fine but to be worth 40Mio be basically has to become a top 10 player for the upcomung 4 years.

Are they that much smarter than me, or are they panicking because of Dortmund?
