Playing back and forcing jumpers now. Got a little better speed on him than Manu.

He's not being as active without the ball and hitting the glass as much either.

Predictions for the second half:

--> Spurs will dribble less and actually run their plays, leading to easy scores.

--> We will take a double digit lead late 3rd Q, and then the Clips will go on an 8-0 run on the back of CP3 genius early in the 4th to make it a game again.

--> Evans or Martin will get in a scuffle with Splitter at some stage.

--> Bonner will hit two 3s in a short space of time.

--> Benches will be emptied with 2 mins to go.

Let's see if I get any of those right...

2/5 ain't bad. :D

We took too long to put this Clippers team away, and our starters played too many minutes as a consequence. With 3 games in the next 4 nights, lets hope this doesn't come back to haunt us down the road.

It seemed like the 1st round took forever, and now they're having to play 3 games in 4 nights - seems kinda stupid to me. But I think the Spurs will be better off because we had so much rest after sweeping the Jazz, while the Clippers are coming off a very tough, physical 7-game series.

Certainly a very complete team we saw tonight.

With the heavy minutes for TD/TP that is at least a small concern heading into next game then the b-2-b this weekend.

TD is the poster child for a workout regimen that includes swimming. Still going strong at 36 despite his penchant for m&ms and Nacho cheese doritos.

Spurs clobber Clips in rebounding 47-34. Gimpy Griffin a huge problem for them so they went small.

Another stat that stand out is 29-19 assists Spurs.

As stated by Kenny, Clips have to make their own shot while Spurs get plenty of assists from others. Then we have more guys that can score on their own too.

We aren't going to shut down CP3 and Blake like this for most of the series. We will slow them down for sure, but CP3 isn't going to be held to six points again.

On the flip side, I don't think Tony is going to only score seven again.

I am worried about the back-up PG situation, though. Bledsoe and Paul really exposed our offense sans Parker running the show. You have to look at working Mills in there some.

Blake in the post-game: "We scored the ball... decently. But we just can't give them as many open looks as we did tonight."

The problem, Blake, is that if you try and get out on those open shots, Tony Parker is going to cut you to pieces. Pick your poison. This team just has too many weapons.

unsung heroes of Game 1 for me:

Kawhi: 16 pts, 3-3 from 3, 6 boards, 3 steals, 1 blk

Diaw: (who was an integral part of the run in the 3rd quarter that put the Spurs up 20+) Not sure why he didn't play any of the 4th quarter: 7 pts, 12 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals

* Also I blame this tweet for why Splitter air balled his 2 FTs...

Jeff McDonald ‏ @JMcDonald_SAEN

Just watched Tiago Splitter airball a free throw after shootaround. Series back on.

Odd to because even last year when his form was bad, I never remember him airballing any FTs. Of course, he didn't really bend his knees much on those 2 FTs either.

Green played a lot on Paul. Kawhi got some time on him in the 4th. Chris guarded Tony a lot in the first half. Some other players guarded him in the second, I honestly can't remember off the top of my head.
