Israel has probably spent more time waxing his eyebrows than watching the Spurs the past 2-3 months. With that being said, I could careless what he thinks. I seriously doubt he watched A Spurs game before the playoffs started, tbh..

His opinion shouldn't mean a damn thing to anyone.

Its not what he says that I am annoyed with, it's the fact someone is paying him to say it.

If they are going to call him an analyst, he should actually have a basis for his poorly constructed opinions

He's one of the most effective Spurfan trolls I've ever seen.

Every spurs fan who actually engaged him is looking like a total fool right now. There's just a sense of desperation to gain approval from him, and it looks pathetic. He's really the last one laughing.

If you really want to show someone like Israel Gutierrez up, here's what you do: ignore him.

Ignore him when he says the Spurs aren't title contenders. Ignore his awful series predictions. Israel Gutierrez refusing to give props to the Spurs doesn't make a championship any less sweeter. Israel Gutierrez sucking off the Spurs with praise doesn't increase our chances to win a championship at all.

Gutierrez' premise from the beginning of the NBA playoffs has been that the Spurs are an offensive-oriented team and not a strong defensive team. Much like the Phoenix Suns of past seasons, offense-heavy teams do not win championships. He's sticking to his philosophy because he knows the Spurs haven't really faced a top 5 defensive team, yet. The remaining teams in the playoffs ARE defensive-oriented teams, so how well the Spurs play versus their next opponents should present a more convincing argument.

Spurs fans shouldn't expect the Spurs to average 100+ PPG against the great defenses.

When people tweet-out their smack, I would recommend you think and proofread before you send it. Words get left out, misspelled, etc. and it can make you look like the clown. For sure, DO NOT TWEET DRUNK!

Interesting you'd say that since it seems like the Spurs defense has been significantly better in the playoffs. Is there some way to find out what their defensive ratings are for the postseason?

The Spurs in the playoffs are certainly better than the Spurs were in the regular season. They have been improving the more they play together with their new additions.

In defensive efficiency - points allowed per 100 possessions, the Spurs currently rank 5th according to Hollinger's site.
1. Boston 92.6 pts/100 poss.
2. Indiana 93.5
3. Miami 94.1
4. Phily 94.4
5. San Antonio 94.9

http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/teamstats/_/sort/defensiveEff/order/false/seasontype/3

In pure Opp. FG% the Spurs rank 5th of the remaining playoff teams:
1. Indiana .399
2. Boston .404
3. Okla City .407
4. Miami .413
5. SA .423

It was still a close game and the Lebron had to have a historically good game along with Wade having a really good game. If Lebron can sustain 40-18-9 then I don't think the Pacers have a chance.
