Not much new in there for hard core fans, but it deals with their perception... kind of my response to some other articles that have been written about them of late.

Awesome article.

I find winning interesting. Losing is disappointing. I'd rather win 66-60 in a gritty, low-scoring game than lose 150-149 in a high-scoring, triple-OT shootout.

Not that I'm saying that the Spurs are low-scoring, but simply, their 17-game winning streak is interesting just because it's winning. Period.

It's a nice article but ultimately a losing argument -- you should like us, just look at our resume.

As we all know, we like who we like (usually for all the wrong reasons). And we're herd animals when it comes to liking (and shunning) others.

Duncan isn't more interesting because he has a psychology degree, just more perceptive. But it's our perceptions that entertain us, not his.

Artest doesn't have psychology degree, but he's more interesting because he needs a psycholgist.

And ladies love outlaws.

In other words, to be great but unliked isn't an injustice -- just a comparison of two completely unrelated concepts.
