A sample of some good stuff in an Arash Markazi article:

"I heard Popovich say, 'If you pass down the shot, you're coming out of the game. I heard him say that to Gary Neal and I heard him say that to Danny Green. That's just the confidence coming from the coach. ... And even if he misses, I'm running back with him, and I see [Popovich] clapping his hands and cheering him on. It's the system."

A good quote about the Parker-to-Ginobili backdoor pass, too.

It's the kind of chemistry the Clippers simply don't have and not-so-secretly long for while they watch the Spurs slowly pick them apart, showing how far the Clippers have to go before they can truly be considered title contenders.

"I'm not going to lie to you. It was devastating today," Foye said. "It was tough on the psyche and definitely tough on the body. You're out there and you're giving it your all, and they go fast and then they go slow. It's basically like [Popovich] is over there saying, 'Pick your poison.'

"'Oh, you're going to take away Timmy [Duncan]; there goes Kawhi Leonard in the corner. Oh, you're going to take away Kawhi? Here's Ginobili, and Tony Parker is going to go coast to coast. If you take that away, we're going to kick it out to Danny Green for a 3.'

"It's pick your poison with those guys."

They are and they know it. Spurs reached down their throats and ripped their hearts out in the third quarter today. Get your brooms out.

This. If they can put out 4 solid quarters of effort tomorrow after a loss like that, I'll be shocked (and impressed).

See THIS is how the Spurs can get free agents to want to play here. Get schooled by Pop!

I doubt it. Pop puts this away. No let up.

Its human nature to recognize that you're not going to beat a team that has not lost in over a month 4 times in a row. Especially after they just came back from 24 down to destroy you.

The Spurs broke the Clippers today.

Right now the clippers have to feel like a basketball version of a Saving Private Ryan Tom Hanks lying wounded and disoriented watching his pistol bullets bounce off the incoming tank.

Al Jefferson couldn't have said it better.

Exactly and everyone criticized him for saying that.

He's correct and he's entitled to feel that way..a 3-0 deficit has never been erased in the NBA, and he obviously realizes it won't happen in this series..

However, it's clearly a subliminal shot at Del Negro, one of, if not the worst coach in the NBA..

A lot of Spurs fans, myself included, have taken Pop for granted..seeing teams like Miami, the Clippers and OKC in the next round(tbh) suffering from poor coaching makes you appreciate the role of a great coach..

Post of the day (CST) imo.:toast

But a better analogy would be the Spurs being Tom Hanks, shooting ineffectively at the tank, before it got blown the fuck up via the explosives in the socks.

Agreed. The Clippers had to have known that coming into this series they simply didn't have enough skill to compete. Talent alone would be their only chance.

3 games in, there is no reason not to believe that it's over. Whatever motivation or tactic they were clutching to to believe that they can win, is effectively over.

This is breathtakingly perfect.

Hopefully we don't get bombed by a tank buster though, tbh.

Like they have so many other teams - the 2003 Lakers, the Phoenix Suns, The 2005 Pistons, the 2007 Cavaliers...

I've never liked Foye so am probably biased here, but I read this partly as a back-handed "he's only a product of the system" swipe at a 'Free Agent to be rival' in Green.

First Al Jefferson, now Randy Foye. And the series isn't even over yet.

The Spurs really give their opponents the impression that they have no chance.
