Duncan then ribbed Jackson, who was standing in the vicinity, remarking that any system that could accommodate Jackson ("even though he sucks") must be ingenious.

I'd rather be the Role Player on a Championship team than the best player on a marginal/non playoff team ANYDAY and 2X on Sunday.

I'd rather be a superstar making 25 million with no rings than a role player with rings. With a few hundred million in the bank when I retire, I can buy Lawrence Taylors' ring on EBay.

We'll def need Cactus Jack vs OKC (& hopefully Heat). He can match Harden off the bench, and I bet he can scrap it up wit Lebron & Wade.

Jax got a bad rep thanks to the loony bug in Indy. IMHO, he did nothing wrong going to the aid of his teammate. But because he did, he has been called crazy at the minimum and far worse. To me, he is a teammate first and a solid veteran player second. We can use his veteran knowledge in the next two series.

Jack respects the winning culture. The players he grew up with and a team that has the sense of what it's about. There is no need for him to be the big fiddle. He's there to compliment and help out. He will be much more vital in the series to come with Durant/Harden.

Jackson's basically a hugely loyal guy. He'll go to the mat for whoever's around him. Unfortunately who was around him was a lunatic Ron Artest. I legitimately don't think Jax wants to be top dog at all - he's very, very happy falling in line with a bunch of other tough dogs, even standing behind a leader. He has that now in SA again.

I'm surprised how well Jax has taken to allowing DG and KL playing more than him. Really the RJ trade was a win just because we have those guys playing more.

It's interesting that sometimes star players say the opposite that they would trade individual awards for championships.

I guess each party just wants to know what the other feeling is like. Not everyone can be the man AND win ships....if I had to choose I would choose being a role player who contributes on a championship team.
