If it goes to a finals against Boston or the Heat any chance of moving a game or two over to the Dome for increased ticket sales/attendance. I know the views aren't quite as good but 39,000 is alot more money for Holt and the team than 18,000 and I know a bunch of people would love to be there.

No, I agree. This is a quality thread. Move the fuck out of the finals. Fuck a contract with AT&T's gagillion dollar sponsorship. Peter Holt, if you are out there reading this pile of shit... Think about it...

The alamodome had 14 new boxes built in addition to the 38 allready there in 2006 when it was renovated bringing the total up to 52 which is 2 more than there are in the SBC Center, So yeah you actually have a chance to sell two more luxury boxes as well. That's some giant F-U to them.

They wouldn't do it. But it'd be nice. I'm in the minority it appears when I say I loved the games better at the dome.

Mostly for this reason. 36000 fans and leading the league in attendance

Right which is why the capacity was around 40K instead of 65K like it is for football games. The place is huge which is part of why it always felt empty and tickets were so cheap.

i also remember being able to just walk on to the floor level from our seats during halftime. got to high five the players when they came out.

and fan fiesta was behind the curtain all the little kids not giving a shit about the game haha

How the hell can anyone think it was the shit? You guys must have not gone to many games there. I'd much rather sit in the upper deck of the ATT than the Upper Deck of the dome OR many places in the lower area.

That place was not good for basketball.

True story - sat behind a guy in the upper deck for a playoff game one time and he literally smelled like shit.

:lmao You posted a video of how it sounded in 99 after the Franchises biggest shot ever before they had won a single ring.

OF COURSE IT WAS LOUD.

Spurs playoff tickets going for under 10 dollars now and you think the Alamodome would be loud? No.

I really don't know why your are laughing. Thousands of more seats for "rowdies" means the crowd is rowdier. Pretty simple. Those "under 10" tickets for the ATT Center come nowhere close to the number of seats at the dome, obviously. And the crowd was pretty loud before he hit the shot too btw.

I really don't think you have a point. So you think is was horrible, I disagree. No need to act like you're so darn righteous all the time.

Yeah, and they gave tickets away back then too. No way the team could have survived with its 2002-2012 payrolls on the $16.50 a ticket I used to pay for playoff games there in the lower level. I remember lots of the regular season games you could get in for bringing a Coke or Sprite can (seriously). Plus, it's just a horrible place to watch a basketball game since your seats are so much farther back thanks to it being an alleged football stadium. I'm so glad they got out of that piece of shit and into a real arena.

The Dome was loud but AT&T is louder. It is closer to the Hemisphere experience than the Dome ever was.

I'm not saying it was feasible. I'm just saying I loved the experience there, just my preference.

I just never met anyone who would rather watch the game at the Dome than at the ATT. The Dome was a terrible place to watch the game unless you were damn close. Also, the Dome wasn't very loud most of the time. It could get loud at times, but I went to a ton of games there and I've been to a ton of games at the ATT and the ATT is more consistently louder.

son the Spurs have had THOUSANDS of $2-$10 playoff tickets available this playoff season for an arena that seats around 18,000. they would have to literally give the tickets away or PAY people to fill up the Alamo Dome.

:lol Well you met him now. Even since back in the Spursreport days I have said this. I just loved that we could outnumber all other teams in attendance in the playoffs. I frickin loved that.

I actually wished they could have built the ATT with another level for the playoffs, and that they could seal it up sound proof during reg season somehow lol

No thanks. The AT&T Center is a way better atmosphere for a basketball game. AND everyone can actually see, even from the cheap seats.

And if you were standing at midcourt with a sound meter, the AT&T center was probably louder five different times in tonight's game because there wasn't a curtain with 19 million cubic feet of air behind it absorbing all the sound.

Would it be nice to have Games 1 and 2 of a potential Finals series watched by 35,000-40,000 people instead of 19,000? Sure, that would be a lot of fun. But the Alamodome? No, thanks. Poor sight lines for basketball games, cavernous design, horrendous parking/awkward location, contract issues (The AT&T Center doesn't have the "at&t" logo plastered everywhere just for the hell of it), season ticket holder issues, luxury box discrepancies, etc. I wish the Spurs played in and regularly sold out a 35,000 seat arena, but moving to the Alamodome again to try and recreate 1999 is not a good idea.
