I heard the Mayor suggesting to Chuckster during the broadcast on TNT that he'd take take him on a jog thru the Mission Reach of the river.
Doesn't sound like something he'd enjoy.
I heard him say he went to eat ribs at Tony Romas.
Sounds pretty lame.. Tony Roma's just another franchise chain restaurant.
No wonder he finds S.A. lame.
What suggestions do you have for places to visit, restaurants etc. for Mr Barkley?

He could try to get in to the Nueve Lounge, but he's probably too old for their market demographic.

Ok, which one of these is in an old barn? I vaguely remember a drunken night 15 years or so ago...

Holy crap, is that place still there??? I went there after boot camp in 1974! Ill add that me and a friend had a very great time there because it was full of air force dudes and we were Navy and the "entertainers" seemed to like that. :lobt:

Yeah, let him go to a water park, that will change his mind about big women.

Take the fatty to Lackland AFB for at least a couple of weeks of bootcamp.

Those were some of the sweetest and most memorable 6 weeks (was actually 7 weeks--0 week didn't count, lol) of HELL I've ever experienced in my lifetime. :devil

This. He's an on-air personality. He's supposed to be sensational. Plus, while I love San Antonio, I'm never for one minute going to 'defend' it like it's a prized possession just because I grew up there. Great town, great people, lots of cool shit to do, but who really cares if anybody likes it or not? Yes, you're supposed to let people talk shit about your town because you have no vested interest in it. It's the same dumb misplaced loyalty that mac users or 'chevy guys' or ps3 and xbox 'fanboys' have.

Yeah. It's still there, right across the street from Security Hill which I find funny.

A buddy of mine took me there a couple of years ago. No paved parking lot. Gravel and grass only. The girls have to be their own DJ meaning they use a CD jukebox with no glass cover so they can switch out CD's when they go up on stage. We had fun.

So I read the front page article on the Express News and I see that he decided to do all the typical touristy stuff including the Alamo and the riverwalk, however I did see he made a visit to La Gloria, great food there.
My one suggestion would have been for him to go to one of the local gay clubs and check out the drag queen shows. Maybe they could have given him some pointers on how to cross dress since apparently he has a penchant for it.

Mirrors must be futuristic devices.

Or we got a massive vampire on the loose. Must have the wings of a C-4 in order to take flight.

Having grown up in Austin while spending a lot of time in SA, I honestly have to say that, trolling or not, Chuck's got a point. San Antonio is horrible in terms of actual things to do, and I think that is evinced by the suggestions on this thread, and his point about the women could not be more correct. 99% of the women in SA are gross and that's all there is to say about that.

However, I would say that the city has redeeming qualities in its Mexican food and its basketball team. It's no worse than a lot of cities in the south/southwest, and comparable to if not better than Dallas/Houston.
