Yeah, I was hoping he wouldn't get on the Hornets.

Though, tbh, the Hornets were the one lottery team that actually played hard down the stretch run of the season so can't really argue with the karma aspect. Plus you know Pop is thrilled for Monty and Dell.

But damn, unibrow needed to go East.

Another Superstar in the Southwest Division:pctoss

Temporarily (like Chris Paul).

Or they could go Portland and pick Jared Sullinger. :lol

His demeanor is similar to Tim's. I think his game is more like Camby/Garnett.

Plus, the Hornets get the #10 pick. Impressive night for NO.

Congrats to the Hornets. I hope this saves their franchise. I wonder if Chris Paul regrets bailing on the Hornets now?

The Hornets wouldn't be in this current position if Paul wasn't traded.

hornets gonna be scary in 2 years
if the players stay healthy theyre adding possibly a DPOY to an already top 10 defense
would be probably around top 3 in the league if it was in the east and players healthy

kaman+ possibly okafor gone will give them decent cap space
they can make so many moves + theyll be able to draft need instead of talent with the other lotto pick

theyll have the PG, SG, C positions locked in which are the most important in the game today

As a UK fan I love Anthony Davis. But fuck...I didn't want him in the Western Confernece. Much less the SW Division.

Don't worry. By the time he is dominating we'll be competing in the Jabari Parker sweepstakes.

None of these Kentucky players will actually reach their potential, imo

Combination of entitlement, plus they will be so good a la amare in their first seasons, they won't put in the work needed to become truly elite players.

Just my opinion. I may be I may be wrong

By the time Davis becomes relevant for the Hornets, the Duncan era will be over and we will be rebuilding.

Happy for the Hornets tbh, didn't tank and karma rewarded them

I like how our SJAX trade netted GS the last pick of the 1st round :D

We didnt do much better at second last pick in entire draft, but we now have SJAX who is infinitely tougher than jefferson and we are cashing that in NOW

Happy for NO. Hope Brown won't be a bust. But having him in the East was also good for basketball in general so we have something to look forward to, but then again, he will just be wasted if he went to Charlotte.

Superstar is a stretch. I think he'll be a very good player for a long time but certainly not Timmy or DRob like. Hornets should get another good player at #10.

In the post draft lottery interview, Monty said: "Davis is not LeBron. He's not Tim (Duncan). But they were young once and Tim had four years of college."

There are Superstars in SW division?

NO has Eric Gordon, Marco Belinelli.

HOU has Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic, Kevin Martin.

MEM has Marc Gasol, Z-Bo, Rudy Gay.

DAL has Nowitkzi, Terry, Marion.

All these considered Superstars?

IMHO only Dirk is considered and he is on the decline

Hornets, the NBA's favorite PR team, and symbolic hope for the black community, owned by the Saints owner who is the other New Orleans savior, gets the top pick over the Hornets, owned by Michael Jordan, who has a history with Stern *coff* gambling *coff*, in a hidden ping pong ball pick.

Chris Paul trade to the Lakers undone by the NBA therefore guaranteeing Lakers don't dominate the West.

Clearing a path for a Hornets to be the next NBA story line? Now that the Saints are disgraced?

Don't put it past Stern to have set this up. It has all the earmarks of it.

Shocker.

And yet Gregg Popovich's cadre of Euro-stepping guards, corner-three shooting wings, and stretch fours continues to put a spanner in Stern's plans. :flag:

A slightly better Brandon Wright, which isn't saying much.

He's already stronger than Wright.

He's still relatively raw offensively. If it doesn't develop much, then the Camby comparisons (hopefully with less willingness to leave his man to inflate block totals) are probably apt.

If he does expand his offensive game - then the sky's the limit.

Davis' arrival into the division is yet another reason I hope and trust the Spurs will draft a project big in the second round of the upcoming draft. A young, athletic kid with some size and skill to develop and tutor under Duncan. They're gonna need such a young player going forward.

Spurs need Jabari Parker. He'll dominate Davis. Tank in 2013-14.

Slim pickings lately, we treat Camby like Dave.

Obstructed_View
05-31-2012, 10:28 AM
Camby could have been a hall of famer. He just didn't bother to try the first ten years of his career. Then he became a really good defender after his body broke down.

At 10 the Hornets should look at Kendall Marshall.
