View Full Version : 20 wins in a row was awesome

Prior to this forthcoming meltdown, I think it's only right to recognize the greatness of the 20-game winning streak. Considering that half of it came in the playoffs, it was a fantastic accomplishment. Amazingly, those 20 wins didn't require many close calls and not one miraculous ending.

Great job, Spurs.

Now get back on that wagon.

Thanks.

Here's an idea to commemorate the streak.

Take an assault rifle, load the magazine with 20 rounds, one for every win, insert the magazine into the weapon, load a round, and empty the magazine into the body of Matt Bonner.

Although I have always maintained it would take 5 games to win this, the one loss is always a kick in the nuts. Though my homer glasses, I really thought the game was in reach in the 4th quarter and down by 20+. Even when Blair and Mills were added. I thought, what the heck? Maybe they can change the energy? (which plain sucked)
Anyway, bad night for the big 3. Corrections to be made and Thunder have to do this incredible effort again.

Twas an awesome ride from the moment we traded for Jax, and RJ the Albatross was lifted from the Spurs' collective backs.

The way Jax and Diaw fitted straight into the team, and even enhanced the already pretty strong chemistry, was astounding and a joy to watch evolve. :smokin

A loss in game 3 was inevitable given the energy expended to win games 1 and 2. But I think we might see a game for the ages in game 4, and if we're fortunate we'll start a new streak from there. ;)

It's been a great ride, don't get me wrong. I've had a lot of fun watching the games (that I could) and laughing as people doubted the team. But in the end, do you really think people will talk about it? "Oh yah, remember towards the end of Duncan's career when he had that 20 game win streak, but then couldn't get a championship?"

Like I said, in the end, it only matters who wins and hoists the banner/trophy. Sorry if you don't agree, and sorry to whoever feels they need to quantify their feelings by insulting me and my philosophy.

Enjoy this team and what they are doing. Even if it doesn't end in a title, they've been able to stay relevant for all these years and with their best player in the twilight of his career.

How many teams can say that? Will LeBron James' teams or Durant's teams still play like this when they are on their last legs?

And most of all, Spurs are still up 2-1 against a damn good team. Game 4 is just what it is, game 4.
