Pop is forced to play neal more, and have him guarding harden or westbrook

Neal left those dudes so open tonight it was insane, we were just lucky enough that they missed.

They won't miss those shots every time.

We all know neal can score under pressure, but having him guard harden or westbrook is a recipe for disaster

Thanks a lot Green. You are well on your way to being the new Bonner

Green has played extensively in big games before - even though it's mostly been in college. His poor performances has been very surprising.

Danny Green went from possibly getting a free agent offer to maybe getting a tryout with the Toros. Neal should be starting next game if Pop still gives a shit.

Agreed. Of course the usual clowns are gonna chime in with their "what about splitter and bonner" bullshit. No. It doesnt take a genius to see this, which Shaq has proven in his commentary.

Green sucking ass in the series is really putting pressure on other guys we havent seen in the winning streak.

He's killing us right now. His confidence is low, and he' young so its hard to get back. If he doesn't play well, I don't think Spurs can win it. Hopefully he shows some heart.

Neal can't guard Fisher, and green sucking is forcing Pop to play him more and more against harden and westbrook

This shouldn't be surprising. Green is a scrub. The Spurs rely a lot on scrubs, and sooner or later they'll all let you down.

It's tough to say if he's choking or just in a slump shooting the ball because he's obviously performed well the 1st 2 rounds

06-02-2012, 10:38 PM
Why are you surprised?? It's not like he's a great player. The only thing he can do is shoot a wide open three and when he can't make it he's like Bonner. The guy played like shit for the worst team in Euroleague...

Green is in a shooting slump. If he's a true scorer, he will come out of it.

Good point, and Ginobili's 6 turnovers tonight played a factor.

the green love was at an all time high when he went 50% from the field 46 from 3 for 10.5 points per game in the first 2 rounds

he is a rookie in his first playoffs
he made a lot of big shots during the season especially vs okc
last time he made the game winning steal that sealed the game

id love to see what happens if green suddenly goes like 5/5 next game

I'd like to think Green will break out of his slump soon. It's occurring at a terrible time, sure, but the kid has talent. He's a solid player, and I have faith he'll overcome this.

Right, he did hit the very last 3 of the game tonight right before the buzzer. There's still hope... I hope... :lol

If Green keeps this up, he will continue to devalue his market value. The Spurs will be able to resign him for a cheap contract this summer. I'd rather he get it together and play consistently well.

This. As LONG as its a 1 year w/ a team option..

Manu's not the team MVP.

Manu's not an MVP candidate.

Manu's our wild card, so like Pop says, you have to live with Manu's mistakes in hopes that he makes magic happen.

Parker needs to play well or the Spurs are fucked. Bottom line.

I don't know if we can say Manu is our wildcard. I think tonight shows how much we truly still NEED him. I think Green is your true wildcard. We know that the OKC gameplan is NOT to stop Green.

Spurs proved they can win without Ginobili this year.

Green is a role player.

Parker is supposed to be our MVP.

Winning throughout the season, and a best of 7 against OKC are two totally different scenarios honestly.

Green has lost all of his bargaining power with both us and any other team the way he has played in this series if we lose out to OKC. He will not have any chance to prove the critics wrong. I was hoping he'd really have a big series against OKC but, he has hit rock bottom. He'll most likely come off the bench next season.

TwelveGs210

That works. He has upside still, give em a 1 year with a team option.

If it boosts his confidence, Im all for it. He's been getting some pretty good looks, but he isn't hitting. He needs to rediscover his zone and let it rain.

It's too bad for both he and the team.

If he can turn it around now and the Spurs move onto the Finals, he'll have a chance to continue redeeming himself. As of now, I agree that he's a one-year option guy for next year.

I cant agree with the part about Neal. He's made some shots, but he is too limited in who he can guard.

Neal did fine staying in front of his man. Green didn't force any turnovers, so his misses were amplified. If Neal can stay in front if his man, his offensive versatility and clutchness make him a legitimate option.

This. I think Danny gets one last shot in this series, but if he continues to miss wide open shots he has to see for Neal, Leonard or Jax. Danny is killing us right now because so many of the open corner 3s we're creating are going to him, and he's missing most of them.

I have been saying this all year, while 99% of this forum, including the OP CBF, was eating his dick, tbh..he's a pretty good 8th or 9th man on an NBA team, expectations should be low..I laughed when I read the constant overreactions to Green's potential..

Hopefully he can revert back to form as a good 8th or 9th man in these next few games, as he has looked like a D-leaguer in this series..

What do you all expect? Danny Green is a legit scrub who can get hot from three while occasionally playing decent to slightly above average defense. He's a role player, simple as that. He will play better in game 5 at home.

I hope Danny turns it around. I have seen him play exceptionaly these playoffs and I hope he can duplicate that.

That being said, i'm not too optomistic. He had open shots tonight. HUGELY open shots. And while to his credit he kept shooting; they're just not falling and if he even makes a bucket or two this game is completley differnet.

And thats the thing. Leonard and Neal step up while Green shirks. I still have hope, but also hope that we don't bet the house on Green when we have options.

Unlike Bonner, I'm not ready to give up on him. He should be removed from the starting lineup, but he should still be given a brief first half look. I don't care whether he's making shots or not, if he's wreaking havoc and bringing energy, he still has value. If that's not apparent damn near immediately though, then it's time to bench him.

this

This is the wrong time for him to be in a slump, but those two games in OKC were like Duke vs. North Carolina on steroids! Now he's been throught the fire and we'll see what he's made of. I got faith in the youngsta. He's been streaky all year, but he played his way outta it. I'll give him the lackluster offense because Kawhi is stepping up, but he better play his ass off on defense tomorrow night.

You can't survive shooting slumps to your main guys in the playoffs. That's how you lose series. His role needs to be lessened.
