View Full Version : All is Right in the World
We have a 2-2 series, HCA and down here in the cesspool we have Mav and Laker fan fellating each other over every move the Spurs make, since their teams are not contending.
If the Spurs make the Finals, it's going to get really thick down here. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, and brother will turn against brother and son against father.
I still predict the Thunder to backdoor sweep, but it's entertaining to see the hijinx and tomfoolery of these fans who stuck around the arena long after their teams lost, just to boo and hiss those teams still playing. I did the same last year tbh.
lol thinking we all haven't been here every offseason regardless of who was still in it
I know everyone has, but right now it's us still in it so everything is right. Otherwise, this time of year Spur fan has found a host to parasite and is living vicariously through anyone that can beat the Lakers or Heat.

I guess it's a testament to GNSF's fucktardedness that Spurstalk's Mavs and Lakers fans are bandwagoning the Thunder in this series. On every other board I've visited, both Mav and Laker Nation seem to despise the Thunder.

In the grand scheme of things, GNSF is the typical sports forum poster. The fact that there are so many non-GNSFs is a testament on how good ST is. So I don't think that's the reason.

"GNSF" doesn't literally mean a Spurs' fan with an unbolded name. It's a figurative term to describe a shitty, homerish poster with terrible basketball takes, a simplistic sense of humor (those fans who overuse "Fuk yo team clown") and a thin skin. Cobbler, for instance, is a bolded Lakers fan, but he epitomizes the GNSF posting style.

It's a form of self deprecation to please other teams' fans who post here and attempt to garner e-cred. You also must +1 any bolded name who posts an epiphany that's been posted already a dozen times.
Odds are that if you met some of these guys IRL they would be geeks.
It's nothing new. You must either fall into group lock step or you risk being labeled as a shitty poster in some gay poster of the month thread. If you can copy paste old posts from here randomly by finding a certain gnsf to fuck with, you will be a hero shortly, especially if you get banned a few times in the process. Then follow a chosen one around copying his shtick and then :lol:lol:lol:lol every post he makes, you're set. That's quality. :toast

I have no quarrel with the Thunder..they're young enough to win it and go one and done...I have vested interests in making sure that the Spurs and Heat don't win..and in that order....I will openly cheer for the Thunder....I could not stomach it being Kobe 5 and Duncan 5 that would turn me into a raging maniac...
I also cannot stomach Lebron winning even a single title even though that would be much better than the Spurs winning a gotdam thang...
I would openly cheer for Boston if they faced the Spurs....as long as the Spurs or Miami doesn't win then I'm ok...but if one of them has to win..let it be Lebron...that's how much I despise the Spurs and their fan base. including the ones that pimp for bull dikes :lol

It has everything to do with us. The source of your butthurt is the years you had to endure Duncan: 4, Kobe: 3 from Spurfan, which is why you fear Duncan tying it up as much as you, even if that means Boston increasing their overall ring count on the Lakers.
Pretty pathetic that a player rivalry is more meaningful to you than a team rivalry. But I'm not surprised, given the fact you're a Kobe fan first and a Lakers fan second.

I'd love to see Miami crush the Spurs last title hope in this decade. But at the same time, the basketball fan in me wants to see OKC take stage in the FInals. KD vs LBJ, WB vs Wade is just too good to pass up.

Thanfully Thunder and Durant will keep Lebron from ringing more than once.
Spurs time as a contending team has definitely dwindled down to this year. After that I fully expect the Thunder to be top dogs for the next 5-6 years.

Thunder are show horses. They prance around and look pretty but they have some pretty big decisions to make. They may not be able to afford Harden soon, and if they can, this means Ibaka will sign somewhere else. IMO, OKC's window to championship is at its widest this year, when two of their key players are playing for their next contract. They really look like the Mavericks tbh. Once they ring, I fully expect them to lose that edge.
Durant is going to be a Top 3 player for a while but my suspicion tells me that once their core is broken up due to cap restrictions, things will be ugly in OKC and Westbrook will be the next player to go.
Also, this off season will be a great indicator of who will be rule the league in the next few years. That being said, I honestly think Miami's Big 3 only has a 2 yr window (excluding this year) to win some championships. I'd be disappointed if they cant win at least 2 rings in this 3 yr window.

I hate Boston. But Kool has a point, here. In my lifetime as a fan (started in 1980) Celts have only 4 titles to the Lakers 10. Of course they count(the others) but I cant hate them with the same passion the old schoolers do, because they only have broken my heart twice. In 1984 and 2008. Both hurt real bad, the Henderson steal of Worthy's pass, the McHale clothesline and the epic comeback at Staples and the beat down in Game 6 are some of my worse memories as a Laker fan. But to counter that I have celebrating on the parquet in 85, the junior skyhook of 87, and the redemption of 2010.
I KNOW the celts have owned the Lakers more times than not, but I dont know THAT pain. So I would root for the celts over a true rival of ours ...(like maybe Sacto or Blazers of early 2000's) I just dont see the Spurs as that. That rivalry mostly exists in the greater SA area and on this forum. Yes we have been the two dominant teams of the past 13 years but that shit is no rivalry. Shit, when i lived in L.A., I had no clue the Spur fanbase was so blinded by hate for the Lakers, I thought they were classy like their team ...:rollin
But, I would rather the spurs win 5 than the Celts win 17. Titles are not easy to come by no matter how many we have won and we finally narrowed the gap I dont want those green bastards getting another before we do. Would love to live in a world where we have more :lobt: than Boston.

As for Lebron, I dont hate him. Unlike many Kobe haters, Im not going to let the media overpraising of LBJ, cloud the fact that the guy is a beast. And if he puts all together can challenge MJ for GOAT.
But if he fails, hell yeah Im gonna clown. Because no way would Kobe, Duncan or even Dirk lose with Wade (and hopefully Bosh) on their side. He needs to win and he needs to win soon.

Lebron's all-around stats are pretty damn impressive. If he finds a way to win at least 4 titles ... he is in the convo. Do i think he is better than Mj with 4 titles? No, but a case can be made. His stats will be ridiculous. His efficency numbers are amazing as well. Just saying he has a chance ..even if it is slim.

People comparing Kobe to MJ was enough. Lets just leave it at that.
Kobe is the only one we can make an arguement as far as comparing them.
And it took him his whole career for the stats to line up with MJ.
Lebron is in what? His 9th year in the NBA? If he doesn't win a couple of championships within the next 4 years, he's done.
IMO, Lebron will win maybe two champs, max and will be remembered for his 4th quarter choking and having to join Wade's team to accomplished all that.
