This situation isn't anything that Timmy, Manu, Tony, and Pop haven't been in before. This Spurs team is much different from the ones of the 2000's, and the Big 3 are older than they used to be. However, championship experience never dies.

2012

2008 Western Conference Finals:
San Antonio - ?
Oklahoma City - ?

Agreed.

Not sure any of those opponents were as explosive as this Thunder team, but it does help take my finger away from the trigger...if only for one more game.

One thing to be concerned about is Durant. Remember how Lebron lead the Cavs from a 2-0 deficit against the Pistons? Durant is just as capable. TP really needs to step up his game.

Mostly it depends on details and luck to win it!

Game 5 is pivotal, whoever wins the game wins the series 90% of the time.

Yeah the Spurs in the Tim Duncan era have been terrible at that. In Duncan's 15 years, its happened...once.

Spurfans should be embracing this. These decisive Game 5's have often been defining games of our championship runs ('03, '05 especially) and people are running scared. This game has the potential to be one of the most significant games in franchise history, this is what sports fans live for.

Great post.

All those folks who were whining earlier in the postseason about how this year's Spurs haven't been "tested"? Well, here we are. This is it.

I'm as confident as I was before game 1. Meaning I still think this series is a tossup. I will say that if the Spurs hadn't made the run to cut it to two in game 4 and had instead been blown out again, I'd have felt that theres no way the Spurs get past game 6. Instead, they nutted up for the last 18 minutes and played relatively well.

Damn, I forgot how many times we've won game 5 after series were tied. Bring back the nasty!

That is up there on the list and happened a grand total of one time! So how are they sh*t with back door sweeps when it has happened one time?

Seattle up 2-0 won, Detroit up 2-0 and won, Kings up 2-0 and won, so thats three to your one there as an example.
Means. Nothing.

Yes, the past means nothing now I agree so you can throw that out.

Just need to get easier buckets out there. It looked like most of the shots made in game 4 were a struggle. We especially need more points in the paint. It will help spread the floor, which would allow players like Green, Leonard, and Manu to rain some 3's.

It's a two way street. No point in spreading the floor if those threes aren't falling. Bonner's a lost cause, but hopefully guys like Green, Leonard, Manu, and JAX will make it rain.

not much weight in these past games. these spurs are a different team the thunder are a different team. usually when a team storms back when under 2-0 is because the leading team was overconfident and didn't play with energy (e.g. the lakers the past few years). while that is true for this series too, the thunder are growing up. they've always had the offensive talent to run good sets and the athleticism to lock down on defense. they just never matured to this point. now that they have, the spurs are facing a more dangerous thunder team, one that didn't show up in games 1-2.

i'd say at this point, the thunder are slightly advantaged to win as opposed to the 60-40 advantage the spurs had at the beginning of the series. it is up to the spurs to adjust and the pressure switches to them.

The Spurs will bounce back. They did in Game 4, though not enough to overcome KD in God Mode. This team knows what's on the line, and they will not panic. Pop will take them back to the drawing board and the adjustments will be made. These Spurs are still a machine, albeit one that has taken a couple of solid hits over the last few days. The Thunder still have to win just as many games as we do, and we kicked their asses plenty in this series too.

I will say this: I'll be watching from LA, and if that AT&T Center crowd doesn't bring the intensity to this game, I'll fly to Texas and personally open a can. Will somebody step up and put some white shirts in the seats? Even black? I don't care. Bring the noise.
