I don't think there's that many tough decisions here... extend Tim for another season or two if he wants to keep playing. Hopefully that'll release some money so we can sign Diaw. I'm on the fence on Green. He's a good player, but you have to wonder if his rattling in the WCF is just inexperience or he's the fold kind.
The Spurs should consider dumping Bonner, and if TP has to be the sweetener, then maybe they should go for it and explore options.
Thoughts?

We better get a good pg if parker is involved...which I doubt will happen. We can get rid of our best player on the team without thinking we are blowing the team up and I don't think we are there yet.
Bonner will be amnestied before he's traded.

1. I'd really rather be having this conversation when it's actually the offseason.
2. I'd love to see Diaw back.
3. Green wasn't the fold kind at Carolina, so I'm willing to give him another shot.
4. Bonner is fairly cheap -- we don't need to give up assets to dump his ass. And really, I'm okay with him sucking up regular season minutes until we can develop someone better. We just have to do it knowing he has to be shortened out of the rotation at playoff time.
5. I'd like to bring in De Colo and/or Lorbek if we can. New blood would be nice.
6. I don't think we need to get rid of Tony, but he's one loss away from proving he can't be the best player on a title team. With Tim and Manu on the downside of their careers, if we keep Tony, we do so knowing we need to find someone better than he is to play alongside him.
7. If we can get the right player(s) back, anyone but Tim and Manu is tradeable.

If you took this long to figure out that Parker will never be the best player on a title team, I pity your very limited mental capacity :lol

Tbh, I think you should trade for Scalabrine and start both him and Bonner. The twin towers of ginger would be a force to be reckoned with for years.
Fall gracelessly into mediocrity.

Spurs only excel at drafting, they should start tanking.

A year ago, it was a given.
This season, for a long time, it looked like he had raised his ceiling and was forcing a re-evaluation. Right up through the first two games of the current series. Then the wheels fell off, and we're one loss away from being back where we started on this one.
Was it dumb to get suckered in on it? Well, ok, I guess so. And in hindsight, it definitely was. Nevertheless, that's what it looked like for quite a while. Call me a sucker, I guess.

timmy should retired come the end of this season imho, he can still help his team in various areas but it's rebuilding time now. spurs ain't contending for shit with such a squad, or at least they ain't reaching where their hope is at
tim would be a good addition for teams who're still contending, e.g. he'd be a great backup for dirk if he joins them mavs and would win a 5th or maybe 6th ring for himself, but we know TOSB is retiring in silver & black :cry

we can't afford any better big men, and he's already an upgrade over Blair/Bonner... that said, some team might throw the big bucks at him and we're going to be out of the discussion...

I'm hoping they have Bonner for the tank job after Tim retires in a year or two.

Float TP out as trade bait again. Being a hair's breadth away from another trophy shot apparently doesn't motivate him, so being on the trade platform probably won't demotivate him.
This. His value should still be relatively high despite his disappearing act this round.
I can see getting rid of Bonner, but Blair is found money. He's not going to make the Spurs a contender, but he will help them win regular season games. There's not many in the league who will be available that will do much more than that.
We need a good, tall no defense playing 3 pt shooter to replace Bonner. I wonder if Dirk is looking.

^ dirk still has two years left on his contract with them mavs and the money owed is far beyond what the spurs can afford tbh

Some guys couldn't even play the last couple of games. Bonner needs to be shipped ASAP. Green stock might be at an all time low. Spurs will also have to take a serious look at Neal. His defense is indefensible, tbh.

At least Neal is making the minimum. Perfectly decent 11th man, honestly.
After seeing two good playoff rounds before he fell apart, I'm willing to give Green another year to see if he can improve, especially as a defensive stopper.
We need to hope De Colo can come in and be a workable backup PG. With ball handling and passing and all that stuff Neal isn't as good at.
But yeah, what we really need is to improve the depth for our bigs. Bonner fucking sucks. If there's some kind of cap magic that gets us both Diaw and Lorbek (and De Colo), someone please make it so. If we can get any kind of trade value for Bonner or Blair that would allow us to draft someone we can develop, please make that happen out there.
And if Tiago Splitter could learn how to shoot free throws and develop a f$%&ing jump shot, that would be fantastic.

Develop Leonard, sign Lorbek/De Colo, resign Diaw/Green, let Mills/Anderson walk, and, most of all, get rid of Bonner.
