We lived off that. Remember when we would play the Suns and their high scoring offense and we'd punch them in the mouth with our defense in the playoffs and they'd fold like a cheap lawn chair. The Lakers had Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Shaq, Karl Malone, and Gary Payton on one team and went to the Finals in '04...Pistons crushed them with what?....DEFENSE! Beat that super team 4-1 in the Finals. How do you think the Mavs beat the Heat last year?...they didnt try and outscore them...Chandler was a defensive beast in the paint. When the Lakers were winning their titles...they were winning with defense...just look at their avg. pts per game in the Finals and what they held their opponents to...just look at our title years.
