View Full Version : One of the worst chokes in sport I've ever seen

Now in 2009 I had to witness my beloved Saints win 19 of 22 games then choke in the Grand Final. In 2012 I've witnessed a team win 20 straight games then go into a shell and completely choke their way to a WCF loss. No champion team should be up 18 and lose in a pivotal game. OKC deserve it way more. Jackson looked like the only person playing with passion and Duncan forgot to pass when we needed him most. Fucking hell, choking is the worst thing about sport

Still not as bad a choke as the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS or The Pats losing to the Giants in SB XLII after winning 18 in a row, which is damn near impossible in the NFL.

No, when Ga Young Kim missed the 8 ball on two attempts for the world championship, that was a huge choke. Can't believe you missed that one.

Rangers choked pretty hard as well in the last series.

20 in a row up 2-0 to a back door sweep and losing an 18 point lead in your close out game is a pretty bad choke.

OKC was just better. They should have won Game 1. I don't consider this a choke as much as just running into a buzzsaw and running out of gas.

I think it was more about the buzzsaw. I mean let's face it. The Spurs hadn't played competitive basketball in the playoffs until game 1 against the Thunder. The Spurs weren't challenged by the Jazz or Clippers and it showed in the WCF.

Yup...it was an easy ride until the WCF, then the Thunder just shocked 'em.

It is what it is...time to rest and reload for next season.

GO SPURS GO!!!!! :hat

Yeah, but it's still shocking. I mean the Spurs were on an excellent roll and it just imploded on them. I honestly thought they were going to the Finals and were going to anal rape the Heat or the Celtics.

doesnt this feel like 04 season whether spurs are 04 spurs or the wolves 04 position, no team was going t o get in the way of sterns team ratings 04 lakers untill they self destructed in the finals internally....

even the 04 wolves had an easy road to the wcf

Thunder beat the Spurs handily. No excuses for losing 4 in a row, one being at home. Thunder are the better team. Stop being swollen little pussies.

Do you ever watch the NBA Aussie? It's not that rare for teams to come back from a first half 18 pt deficit, especially if you are a good team.
