BRHornet45

sons here are just a handful of the thousands of tweets going on tonight ...

Skip Bayless ‏@RealSkipBayless

Refs have decided they'll make sure OKC going to Finals. One outrageously bad call after another. Ginobili robbed of 3-pt play, 3. Sickening

Boston Radio Watch ‏@bostonradio

David Stern and Vince McMahon should discuss a corporate merger between NBA and WWE. It's time.

MJ S. Thompson ‏@ViewtifulJ21

Vince McMahon runs the NBA

Corey Holcomb ‏@thecoreyholcomb

The nba is a fixed league & all the commentators r hoes for a checks. The refs r paid to fix games.

Finn Hudson. ‏@NoSwagJoseph

I now believe my dad when he said The NBA is rigged. Just like wrestling.

Sean Freeman ‏@YoungSaintNick_

NBA rigged like a bad chair. If you watched that entire game and have the smallest bball knowledge you know the refs HELPED OKC win #Period

SPEAK ‏@speakz

Boxing rigged ...nba rigged...rap game rigged ....the fix is in man.

Sean Tuohy Jr. ‏@SJTuohy

If a ref fouls out Lebron, David Stern might fire him on the spot. Lebron hasn't fouled out since April of 2008. NBA, where rigged happens.

DeVier Posey ‏@DPo8

Is the NBA rigged for ratings? I know I can't be the only one that feels like that lol

Rob F. Johnson ‏@iSmack_Midgets

Boston not going to the finals, don't yall know the NBA is fixed? No one wants to see Durant vs Pierce, they wanna see Durant vs Lebron

Fredrick Nunley ‏@FreddyJayNunley

That the NBA is just as real as professional wrestling 😒

Ben Fleck ‏@benjaminfleck91

I'm convinced that Vince McMahon is in charge of hiring NBA refs. These games are fixed like the #WWE

T Harley Ryder ‏@toptrainer76

@TheMongoMan I stand by my statement that the #nba is rigged n the refs control the game like in the #wwe matches. NBA is fake n phony.

Kadee♏ Jones ‏@Love_Joenz

NBA prolly always been rigged. I been a believer since that thing with that ref betting on games

Maybe true but the Spurs are the Spurs, not the fuckin' Kings so it's hard for anyone to have sympathy for the Spurs right now.

That shit was annoying as fuck tonight, it's like the refs were simply saying to the Spurs "Fuck you, you're not winning." Some will say the Spurs shouldn't have blown their lead, but just because they blew their lead doesn't mean they have to get screwed over. Que lastima...

I can't believe we actually have people on this forum,
who truly believe the officiating didn't cause our loss.
The only difference between the last three games officiating,
and the one earlier, is that discretion wasn't a requirement in tonight's game.

I'm not looking through silver and black glasses.
I'm looking with my own stunned eyes.

BR, what's your honest assessment of the officiating in game six?

honestly I believe it was fixed. I predicted the Spurs would win this game in order to force a game 7, but I was obviously wrong. the NBA had an agenda with OKC and they met it tonight.

all jokes aside the officiating in the NBA is completely absurd and out of control. no other sport can be single handedly controlled the way that basketball can and it is a damn shame that the NBA would rather carefully control the games with their officials than allow the real talent on the floor to determine the outcome of the games. did the Spurs shit the bed tonight? yes ... but its also pretty hard to compete when the opposing team receives an additional 13 free throws and other bogus calls.

that was the case. But at intermission between 3rd and 4th quarter, I'm sure NBA office texted the officials "Initiate Plan Omega"

the rest is history.

My reasoning is that they saw OKC not winning game 7 at all, so might as well assure OKC going to the Finals given the close score.

son what they WILL DO in the finals with OKC vs Miami is control the games just enough to ensure the series goes at least 6 games so that they can milk as much money out of it as possible and then by game 6 they will probably let the players decide who wins.

The really fucked up thing is they didn't help OKC win for OKC's sake...they did it to make Miami's path to the title easier. All the calls that OKC got in the WCF will go to the Heat in the Finals. The NBA will not allow LeBron to go ringless.

HEAT = 2012 NBA CHAMPIONS

FACT.

Spurs gave up the 15 point lead on their own/OKC covered it on their own. Spurs didnt fold after that though, they were right there trading punches. OKC is good enough and mightve pulled the win off on their own but its obvious the NBA wasnt risking it.

It stings ten times as bad because the Spurs will be out of the picture in a yr or two and the NBA fucked what couldve been their last curtain call. Fuck. :cry

too fucking obvious

This video doesn't even begin to touch on the hordes of illegal screens Ibaka is allowed to set or the blatant push offs by Perkins (one of which (on Jackson) lead to a wide open Durant 3) or the occasional goal tends by Ibaka or Fisher running into a perfectly still screen and flopping his way to an offensive foul call (against the spurs) or Durant backing Leonard down, turning around, and getting his 2 superstar freethrows while Duncan consistently failed to get that same call when he was working in the post save a garbage time foul (in SAS's favor) where they finally called it to present a facade of fair reffing, I suppose.

I think 4 games were very poorly officiated in this series, probably ranked in the following order -

1. Game 6 (in favor of OKC; OKC wins)
2. Game 1 (in favor of SAS; SAS wins)
3. Game 5 (in favor of SAS; OKC wins)
4. Game 4 (slightly in favor of OKC, but nothing egregious)

Game 5 started off just awful in favor of the Spurs. Tony Parker recklessly driving into Ibaka's body, flailing his arms, and getting 2 unwarranted free throws. However, it evened out a bit with a couple of questionable calls in OKC's favor, there's no question that the Spurs still received a net benefit on bad calls and still lost the game.

If there's any solace to be found for spurs fans, take solace in the fact that we were given a net "bullshit ref" benefit in game 5 and still lost because OKC played so well. And, OKC really was only given a marginal benefit on calls in game 4 and still legitimately won that game.

Game 6 was pretty atrocious, though. Games 1, 4, and 5 can't hold a candle to how poorly officiated (in OKC's favor) game 6 was.

Games 2 and 3 were legitimate beatdowns by both teams.

jestersmash
06-08-2012, 04:02 AM
By the way, the video would be a lot more effective if it documented all of the bullshit calls in Game 6 (including the ones in San Antonio's favor - Stephen Jackson flopping his way to 3 free throws by pulling a 'Harden' (where you shoot the 3 and fall down for no reason), among various other B.S. calls in San Antonio's favor).

A video that documents just a small fraction of the calls in OKC's favor proves absolutely nothing, because like most of these games, there are always questionable calls that go both ways.

You have to document every questionable call and show that one team received a hefty net benefit.

Freaking Fisher's act is so tired. He like a little bull dog thats turns into a poodle on the same play. He pushes with elbows in your chest, in your back, in your ribs, and pushes and pushes and keeps pushing til your off balance, then the second you giving resistence and push back, dude flails his arms and contorts his body in akward 90 angles and the refs blow the whistle everytime. Havent they seen him play all these years. And the worst part is he does this in the biggest moments of games and kills momentum

Its so frustrating to watch, I wonder how the players feel.

Miami vs. OKC at least six games but the Heat win and the "headlines" will be that Lebron suffered for years but finally "climbed" the proverbial mountain.

son i basically agree with your point.

I don't think it's rigged at all levels, because then someone would spill the beans, especially frustrated players.

I just believe Stern assures the owners that he can push the league in a direction that is more profitable than simply having a bunch of black dudes toss a ball around.

Hooking OKC up with generous calls is no different than hooking up a team at the lottery. It's his way of establishing a foundation for continued growth in an emerging market. For example, OKC is deliriously happy because they are winning and they have something else to do besides bestiality and dropping acid with Wayne Coyne. You push things in a certain direction so that there is a good chance they win a championship, and they'll have something to fall back on for years to come, which Seattle sadly never had.

if Lebron wins, it cements his worldwide status. Either way, it's a win-win for the league, they can promote Lebron as a champion or OKC as a beacon of small market success.

I don't agree with it, but i think it's pretty obvious this is how it works. It's not quite WWE, but it's closer than any other professional sport.

son great thread and continued blessings.

BlairForceDejuan
06-08-2012, 06:29 PM
yes, players who couldn't crack 30k irl are going to spill the beans when stern is paying them hundreds of thousands a year to do nothing/millions to toss each others balls.

All you have to do is watch games and believe your eyes. For 300k/year you can certainly buy better employees and put forth a better product if you actually wanted to.
