Don't shoot me. But if the Spurs really are in the market for a physical center, don't they have to consider Kwame Brown if he's available for the minimum? He likely won't be considering he got $8M (or whatever it was) last season from the Warriors. But since he missed almost the entire season, he might fall through the cracks.

He's pretty damn bad offensively but he's grown into a strong post defender who can protect the rim relatively well.

There's nothing wrong with Kwame Brown for the minimum.

Kwame Brown and I have the same birthday. First player I've ever noticed that did.

I agree with Mel and LJ. Kwame as a third center is fine.

Minutes eater. TOSB Duncan needs rest.

If he can foul hard, without giving up at-the-rim and 1s, he'd be a solid.

Kwame Brown, seriously? He sucks.

As a replacement for Shaq, he does. Third on the depth chart behind Duncan and Splitter is about right for what he brings.

Wouldn't be bad for a 5th big and someone to throw against Bynum.

I agree with everyone here. Wouldn't be a bad pickup for the minimum.

I think he could surprise a few folks being in San antonio. Cant teach size either. Not bad for the minimum imo.

Kwame isn't a bad role player, solid defender & decent rebounder, hell tbh I'd like to see him come off the bench with Splitter.

I actually liked what I saw out of this past season in his limited mins with the warriors. Good junk offense player. Cleans the glass well.

sure as hell take him over Turiaf or Mohammed as a 5th big.

spurs do have plenty of scoring bigs, he might work out. hes a big body and sa has kinda been in need of some physicality more than a skill player really

Pass. He doesn't spread the floor as well as Bonner.

He's tougher and stronger than Boner.

The problem is he would be fourth behind Duncan, Splitter, and Bonner. :(

Absolute steal if the Spurs can get him. That's why they won't. Someone else will pick him up.

What about Milicic? He seems about to be amnestied by the Wolves. Then again, Spurs won't get him with what they can offer as well.

After his pectoral tear I'm not so sure about that.

Bruno

I'm not sure how Kwame Brown would fit on the team. Between Splitter probable injuries and Duncan not playing all 82 games, there might have some games where he would get some minutes. However, when both Splitter and Duncan would be able to play, he would get some DNP-CD. I don't see a player like Brown being fine with that role.

Spurs might add a 3rd string center but it will be someone with a lower profile than Brown. If they add that 3rd string center, they should too get ride of Bonner or Blair at the same time.

Pretty much. Adding another big would make six bigs on the roster, so the only way the Spurs get another big would be by trading Bonner and/or Blair.

Also, while Brown has been underwhelming for a No. 1 pick (especially since he was drafted out of high school by Michael Jordan, which understandably raises your expectations) he's had role-player level Win Shares.

It wasn't bad enough watching OKC foul the shit out of Splitter this year? You want a re-play with this clown?

For the minimum, yes.

Just verifying: you want a guy who can't play deep into the playoffs because he's an offensive ZERO who can't even make FTs? If so, we'll have to disagree. He's not even worth the minimum if he can't play in the post season without fear of Hack-a-Kwame.

Sixes lack an interior defender. What's wrong with Kwame on a "role player" make good deal?

Despite being regarded as one of the great busts in NBA history, this contract will take Brown's career earnings over 64M.

76ers will say Kwame Brown protects the rim. He blocks shots, however, at a Matt Bonnerish rate.
