View Full Version : Kevin Durant
We are all basketball fans that follow the game rather closely. It's pretty obvious the NBA wants to promote Kevin Durant as the new face of the league (don't blame em, he is pretty fucking good). If anyone holds a positive perception about him right now, does that perception subside when he buttfucks your favorite team (w/ help from officiating) year after year from now on?
Just curious to see yall's thoughts.

It's not his fault that the refs bailed them out.
I still consider him the real MVP of the league. If for some reason the refs would have been on our side I wouldn't be complaining.
Oh well

The NBA needs to buy him a career's worth of Pro-Activ if that's their MO.

I like Durant a lot. I always dissed him while there was still a chance that Oden would play for us, but it's clear Durant's a special player. I wish we could have a do-over on that draft! :madrun

LeBron's the best player in the league and arguably the most hated athlete in recent memory.

MJ got ridiculous whistles his entire career and it didn't seem to affect his popularity.
I think fans understand that the NBA is a star system, and the stars (as well as their teams) get the calls. It is what it is.

please, the acne jokes are old and unfunny
Durant is the new King. all hail.

I wasn't joking. if the refs and league are going to market you as the "face" of the League, as it now seems destined, then please do something with it.

Is Durant basically a 2012 version of a 2006 Wade? Remember that? Stern tried to promote Wade as the new golden boy of the NBA after he gave Wade his championship. How'd they turn out? Wade did not get out of the first round until he began his relationship with Lebron.

if kevin can ever put on a little weight and strength, and improve his dribbling, he will be all but unstoppable.
did anyone else ever notice he's a bit shaky dribbling the basketball in late game situations when the defense was playing him tight? it would make me cringe, more than once he almost got forced into stepping backcourt when picked up by jackson because he was too weak/poor of a dribbler to shrug him off and go around, he'd take that little step back and almost lost the ball a bunch.

sons he is definitely the next guy to be pushed to the top and quite possibly this year. hell they even filmed a movie last year around BR about him that is going to be released. the NBA has had this planned for a few years now.

He gives us reasons to hate him, though

Until Durant becomes an elite slasher or at the very least developes a solid back to the basket game (like Kome) there is no logical reason why he should be amongst the league leaders in FTAs.

Kevin Durant has the potential to go down as the second greatest of all-time behind Jordan. He is only 23 years old and is already doing fucking massive things. Once he starts getting rings which he will definitely get down the road and possibly has a chance to win his first this year, and the other interesting thing he needs is the MVP awards and Final/Playoff performances. He is already showing up huge in the Playoffs including in clutch situations. If he continues the scoring/passing and continues to work on the defensive aspect of his game this kid could end up going down as the second greatest. His length is what makes him so great, watch out for this mother fucker. :hat

But if he played for the hornets, he'd be known as "That Dude" or "King Kevin" around these parts.

His clutch play against the Spurs made a fan out of me. Nothing but respect for Durant after that series.
I didn't realize Kevin knew Flip Wilson.

KD is a shooting guard entrapped in a forward's body imho, nigga needs to pick some weight and play the game tougher. KD ain't far behind Kobe in terms of skillset, nigga just too skinny for the position he plays. if he develops some low-post game also he'd be the most complete MuthaFucka of all time, nigga has yet to reach his best and fuck knows how damn great the prime him would be.
